commissioner olague? commissioner olague: there goes the mic. well, i met with the project sponsor yesterday, i think it was, and we talked and i think that i can see that they really did listen to the concerns that were raised by many commissioners last time here, the improvements on the building i think are really nice. there's a rooftop garden and a nice lounge on the bottom flooru kitchen on a couple floors, i think, and a really nice big kitch own one of the floors. so i think the quality of life for the tenants who will ultimately reside here is going to be very nice. and i do want to say that even at the last hearing, i was kind of ready to move forward with the project given some of my familiarity of s.r.o.'s as being a good source of low-income housing for people who either earn unlimited incomes or with the economy being what it is, who are finding themselves in situations they didn't find themselves in five years ago. so i think that the nature of s.r.o. housing is a little different in some instances and i believe there are even rela

commissioner olague: yes, it was a good discussion. productive. i know this is one of their priorities. they are just trying to keep everything in line. >commissioner miguel: any other questions? commissioner antonini: i'm in favor of this. i think it does a number of things. it brings the parking into the realities of the changes that have been made since the beginning of the project and is reflective of that. we may in retrospect regret this some years back when we find some of these projects are under park and have trouble selling or renting, but this is unfortunately the upper limit of what is allowed in that district now, so we only should comply with that. he still has one additional car share of of what is required. also, i really liked the concept of having offsite housing. i think it serves those for whom purchased it much better than it does on site for reasons stated, and other things, particularly when it is within half a mile. we see a lot of this going on now, and it is a very good thing because it intermingles communities, but it do

commissioner olague: great. ok. yes. >> if i may, we are concerned about disrupting the neighboring structures as well. the intent is that the demolition will not demolish the existing basement of the 942 mission street building. we will shore it up, and as was noted, we will drill for the foundations rather than pound them. while the construction is -- there are a lot of vagaries with construction, we're taking every precaution to be good neighbors to the adjacent structures. commissioner olague: ok. i just wanted to ask publicly that question. i have to work across the street, so i'm familiar with the area. i do think that because it is a project and a three-star hotel, as someone mentioned, there are not a lot of volunteer -- moderately priced hotels in the area. i think that will contribute to families or others that would come with their partners that happen to be attending a conference that might make it easier for people to also attend some of these conferences. i think it is a good project. we will see. comm
