oliver darcy joins us now.is claiming there is some sort of censorship going on and we heard from twitter. is there censorship happening? >> you know, there is a lot of news going on around alex jones. regarding twitter and whether this is happening with conservatives, i don't think you're going to see that. i think that that has been a thing that conservatives have claimed for a long time but there has been really little evidence to indicate that there are being censored on social media platforms. the social media platform remove content in violation of their policies and a lot of times that does affect conservatives but that is far different from them -- these corporations removing and censoring content, specifically discriminating against conservatives. related to alex jones, though, he is facing a lot of legal trouble these days. on friday, the sandy hook parent or a lawyer representing one of the sandy hook parents filed a legal motion effectively saying that alex jones had destroyed evidence related to th

and joining me right now, cnn senior media reporter oliver darcy, former politics editor for businessider. good to see you, oliver. so is this message that many republicans are pushing resonating or is there pushback like from what we heard from one of mollie's own family member, don't use her name in a politicized way? >> it's actually quite striking that republicans and conservatives are using her death to push political agenda. particularly because after mash shootings and other events, you see republicans saying now is not the time to talk about politics. let's offer thoughts and prayers. let's not use someone's death to push policy. you see it right after the murder comes out and we find out that the immigration status of the alleged killer is undocumented. you see fox news programs and hospitals pushing immigration policy. you see the white house pushing immigration policy. meanwhile, her family is saying, hey, we don't want her death to get lost in politics. >> that hasn't ended it. that's what's striking. i guess it's one thing with permission, you know. if it were being used

i want to bring in our media roberter oliver darcy.are flipping on him. now his allies in the media are too. so what is all this saying? >> it's really something for journalists to directly say the president's not telling the truth but now it's coming from fox journalists, his favorite channel. he's turning it on and seeing someone like brett baer, widely respected, saying the president was not truthful. and that monologue you played was absolutely brutal. where he really spent some time showing the president had not only not told the truth on the hush money payments to stormy daniels but a number of subjects. i think it's probably a little worrisome that normally fox is a lot more indirect when calling out the president. i mean, she smith has been direct. but others have been more cautious in calling out the president. this week, you saw with the hush money payments and with the clear evidence that shows the president knew he was not telling the truth, that these fox journalists are calling him out and that's something he's probably n

oliver darcy is here with more on google's response. that didn't happen. >> right. they're saying it's not grounded in reality here. google basically, they promote the state of the union address for each president. the first year the president gives a state of the union address, it's not really a state of the union, it's to congress. it's not promoted. we have a statement from google that explains this. it says that we have historically not promoted the first address to congress by a new president, which is not a state of the union address. as a result, we didn't include a promotion for this address in 2009 or 2017. the president -- the video he tweeted showed no promotion for the 2018 state of the union address, which is not accurate. google says they did promote it. there are screen shots that show google had promoted that address. >> it's fascinating that this continues and the president is continuing to go after google. you had some blistering comments yesterday. you spoke with steve bannon who was talking about big tech, which give
