hurricane olivia could make landfall at the hawaiian islands by tomorrow night. right now, it is a category 1 storm. and elite search and rescue team is on the way to hawaii to help out. task force 3 also responded a few weeks ago when tropical storm lane hit hawaii. in atlanta, hurricane florence is barreling towards the carolinas. local stores are selling out of supplies as people stock up. forecasters believe it could make landfall thursday as a category 4 storm. >> i know a lot of people are preparing for that. it could be a real disaster. >> i think it is about two explode later today into a category three storm and then a categories -- category 4 storm. really watching the southeast coast as it looks at the projected path could impact them. it is really heating up for the tropics. three hurricanes that we are tracking, florence, isaac, and helene in the atlantic. ithis this is the projected path. thiseek. really watching this a closely for you. the good news for air quality is that most of us are looking good. out of the north bay, moderate for air quality.

tropical storm olivia is bearing down on hawaii. we are is he tracking both storms. >> olivia made landfall today on the island of maui, the first tropical system to do that in modern history. a lot of rain and wind. it actually also made landfall in the island of lanai and taking the full rent of tropical storm olivia. back to the east coast. not as strong as yesterday at the center of the storm but the wind feel is expanding. don't let the number of the center of the storm to take how strong it is. the hurricane wind field is getting bigger. it's 200 miles off of the coast. look at this left turn hugging the coastline all the way from wilmington to charleston. many different areas may experience hurricane force wind and could exceed 1-2 feet. look how high some of the waves that have been reported over the atlantic ocean? 83 feet high or as high as a seven-story building. that's how big some of the waves are and why all of that water is going to cause such a storm surge issue. big storm likely making landfall in the next 48 hours.

olivia is heading toward the hawaiian islands. it is a category one, 85 miles an hour, but all signs point to that becoming a tropical storm by the time it arrives. that should be late tuesday into wednesday. it seems to be taking a beeline towards maui. we will update you again tuesday night into wednesday. for the snell fire we have a little better condition heading toward tuesday and wednesday as temperatures, way down. still upper 80s to near 90 today. more breeze out of northwest now. it will really crank up out of the west southwest by wednesday that is a some deepens and that will world the high. 40s and 50s on the temperatures on the peninsula.
