omar jimenez, thanks very much. i know you're going stay on this for us now. from benjamin ginsburg, well-known for representing republicans on election law issues. ben, great to see you. i've asked you a lot of questions over the last several decades. really nothing like the questions there are right now about george santos. what red flags do you see in these fec filings? >> well, from an election lawyer's perspective, what you see is the taking in of the money and what the sources were. and then how he reported it. and federal prosecutors do not have much of a sense of humor over people who take illegal campaign contributions and then file false government documents reporting their money in politics. you've also got to question about personal use. it's illegal to use campaign dollars to come to you for your own personal life. and i think the way the filings have been raises those questions as well. >> i mean, how much trouble could he be in, if he provided false information in these filings? would it just be a slap on the wrist or worse? >> well, you know, h

cnn's omar jimenez is following this.ne race but obviously, that's one too many. how did this happen and how was it caught? >> reporter: yeah, jake, basically, we don't know if the winner of a local school board race is actually the winner and this goes all the way back to last summer, the msystem vendor said they were reinstalling some software and they missed a step that would have caught votes being counted twice. so because they missed that step, the system says well, votes were inadvertently counted twice here and the county elections offices followed up with the statement today saying that as a result of the problem, there were inaccurate vote tallies in six of the 466 districts. the outcome of one election could change as a result. the board of education in ocean township, which was close. a differential of 20 votes. they asked the attorney general's office to file nels s -- necessary paperwork for a recount. this is a race between steve clayton and jeff weinstein, the former board president there. steve clayton th
