omarion evanston it's good to have you with us tens of thousands of pro-democracy activists in hong kong are defying a newly introduced ban on wearing face masks during protests and that's despite a legal setback angry protesters clashed with police and then response authorities fired tear gas to disperse the crowds pro-democracy lawmakers had attempted to get the banned overturned but that was rejected by hong kong's high court the territory's chief executive kerry lamb imposed emergency law and a ban on face masks on friday. correspondent mathias building is following developments in hong kong and he joins us now for the latest so. the court has now rejected the challenge to the emergency law so how have protesters been responding to that decision. well protesters are out again today where you have seen some of the pictures and it has been pretty much the same as in the other week and protesters coming out in big numbers in the beginning clashes erupt police firing tear gas i have witnessed several dozens of rounds of tear gas the amounts are getting more and more liberal and then at s
