i think on the phone we have juan carlos lopez, anchor and correspondent for cnn espanol. what do we know at this point in time? >> hi poppy. there was a rally today in caracas and in that rally it ended at the presidential palace president maduro announced as part of the speech and in the speech he also said he was imposing a veto requirement for americans traveling to venezuela, that an american pilot of latino origin has been captured on the board we are colombia and that he was cooperating with authorities. it's not the first time something like this comes out from the venezuelan government. this pilot has not been identified. there hasn't been any more information on his apparent activities. but it has been a very tense week between the u.s. and venezuela. the congress approved sanctions that included denying visas or eliminating visas for anyone who the u.s. government determines has violated human rights in venezuela. and the response from president maduro today was to impose a visa requirement for americans traveling to that country. and insistence on alleged coup

thanks for your time on cnn today. as we see there, prime minister netanyahu has now apologized or backtracked on two big comments he made before the election. erekat there saying he does not take the apology at face value. he'd rather see physical change and proof that what he said isn't true. what's the fallout as far as you see it? >> you have two problems here. one, you have a politician speaking in the heat of electoral bad and politicians will say all kinds of terrible things and then try to retract them later. so you can't really trust them any further than you can throw them. the second problem is that there is real serious structural institutionalized long-standing discrimination against israel's arab citizens who are way below the average in terms of social spending job opportunities, economic income, and almost ever category educational levels. there's a problem in terms of the arabs being second-class citizens in israel even though they are israeli citizens. so netanyahu doesn't really care about the arab ci

let's bring in cnn's stephanie elam on the ground in ferguson this morning. good morning, stephanie. >> reporter: good morning, randi. if you look at this case the shooting happened late wednesday night, early thursday morning really and they were able to nab the shooter saturday night. looking at all of the evidence they say they were really instrumental in getting this arrest because they got tips from the community and people who were also outside protesting. police say 20-year-old jeffrey williams admitted to firing the shots that hit two officers late wednesday in ferguson. the question now is why? after meeting with williams in jail bishop derrick robinson told me williams says he did not target the officers. instead firing the shots at someone he claimed robbed him. >> i asked him to describe the individual and he said he couldn't. i told him i would come back to see him and could he provide me more information of who this person is. >> reporter: authorities say williams told them a similar story and they made it clear sunday they have their doubts. >>
