i get to work with young people on immigration policy issues at the local level. universities, looking to have policies to elevate the process for young people to apply for grants that the university offers, or they are working on policies to improve access at the state level so they are able to apply for financial aid. the california dream act was one of those legislations that open up access to higher education by opening state-based aid to undocumented use and that took a long time. young people were organizing and recognizing at the federal level there was very little action taken place at the federal level. i think it is a great example of folks that recognize that. at the national level, sometimes the political climate is not there to advance meaningful policy. they are now going to the state level, the local level, to passop skills anto meaningful legislation to build local power around these issues which a lot of times comes down to education or building allies with folks who have access to different resources that can further in their campaign to really identify solut

i get to work with young people, like i said earlier, on immigration policy issues at the local level, so i work with young people at universities that are looking to have policies that facilitate the process for young people to, like, apply for grants that the university offers like private grants, or they're working on state-based policy to improve access to undocumented youth at the state level so that they're able to apply for state-based financial aid. so the california dream act, for example, was one of those, was one of those legislations. it opened up, um, access to higher education in a sense, um, by opening state-based aid to undocumented youth, and that took a long time. young people were organizing around this issue for a very long time recognizing at the federal level there was very little action taking place at the federal level. so i think dreamers and undocumented youth are a great example of folks that recognize that at the national level sometimes the political climate, the political will is not there to advance meaningful policy, and so they're now going to the local level, to the state level to, um, build pow

there's a new poll out from the iowa state university and kcrga a local station in iowa shows ron paul onwithin the margin of error followed by mitt romney at 18%. newt gingrich is very much in this iowa caucus and still come out on top. don't count him out just yet. >> the voter who said to him not feliz navidad, did he tell shaup if he was a registered republican? >> we didn't get that out of him. this was one of the chaotic scenes when sean happened to be rolling when this voter went up to newt gingrich and said these things. shortly after he announced he was running for president earlier this year another voter went up to him and said something really ugly to the former speaker and this happens to him out on the campaign trail and it does seem to happen to newt gingrich because he arouses these sorts of passions in people and it's something he has to deal with out there. >> he dealt with it with a smile and moved along. >> probably the best way to do it. >> yeah, it's been a tough, i mean, the endorsement that went to rick santorum yesterday, that was a serious blow to newt gingrich.
