good to hear you as well out here in this cold here on the national mall. taking the pulse of the crowd down here on the national mall once the crowds do get down here. right now, people are starting to slowly filter in to this area as they get ready for inauguration 2013. last time it was packed all way from the steps of the capitol back past the washington monument and beyond. there were jumbotrons all over place to accommodate all the crowds here although they are not expecting that large of a crowd to come this time. they still do have the jumbotrons in place and they are expecting a big crowd even though it may not be as big as last time. a couple of things it tell you about. entry points, constitution avenue, northwest between seventh and 12th. independence avenue between 7th and 12th as well. those locations will open this morning at 6:30. if you are coming down here, there are some items that you cannot bring to this location. five arms, alcohol, backpacks, large bags, coolers, strollers, signs, posters, animals. it may sound strange but those are t

abortion over credits it is unraveling on the national mall. there's a rally over the landmark decision from the supreme court that happened 40 years ago. brianne carter is live on the national mall right now. >> it is quiet along the national mall at this hour. in a few hours there are expected to be thousands of people converging here. if you can see the stage is set for the rally expected to kick off at noon today. this is for the annual march for life. after they have a rally here, they are expected to march to the supreme court. this coincides with the 40th anniversary of the landmark decision handed down by the supreme court's roe versus wade. many of the people expected to attend today intended -- attended a vigil last night. we expect will be protesters on the other side of this issue holding a rally of their own here at noon. all this expected to create road closures. starting at 9:30 this morning around the national mall and lasting until later this afternoon when the march and rally. will rally for complete list of closures, go to our

we want to talk to chris lawrence, who's covering this for us live on the national mall. chris, what's being done to secure all these inaugural sites? >> reporter: basically, this is an all hands on deck operation. some is easy to see like the police force, 2,000 to 3,000 other officers that have been pulled in from around the country. there are about 6,000 national guard troops also helping out, and that doesn't even count the federal agents, the fbi and of course the secret service who is running this whole operation. but what you don't see are the cameras. they have literally pulled in cameras from just about every agency that is around washington, so many that federal officials tell us they couldn't even count. but it's a good bet that basically if you are anywhere in downtown washington this weekend, there is a camera on you and you are being watched. the fbi says they are trying to cover all the bases. and right now it's all hands on deck. >> we have our s.w.a.t. team, our -- pretty much all of our specialty teams will be available and on standby to include weapons o
