so let me just say something about the public lands onshore. on public lands, we have had natural gas production just on the public lands alone, senator murkowski. was the second highest since 2004. and oil produced on public lands highest in 2010 since 1997. so the amount that is being produced is very huge. i would also say that contrary to some of the reports that you see from some of the trade associations in the press, we've continued to provide permits and to lease out vast amounts of acreage. right now on the onshore, for example, 7,000 permits are out there that companies hold in their hands, and they ought to be moving forward on those -- on those 7,000 permits. offshore, this committee knows very well because of the number of hearings that you held with respect to the deepwater horizon and the gulf oil spill. we have stood up the industry again. and today we have more rigs working out there in the gulf of mexico than there were right before -- right before the oil spill. and we've continued to do leases in the outer continental shelf,

onshore mineral leasing revenues are estimated to be $4.4 billion in 2013. the 2013 budget strengthens the bml's fee. similar to the fees now charged for offshore inspections. collection of these fees is consistent with the principal that users of the public lands pay for both the cost of use authorizations and for providing for oversight activities. this fee will generate an estimated $48 million in funds to improve safety and production inspections for oil and gas operations. president obama, secretary salazar and this congress have stressed the critical importance of renewable energy to the nation's energy security job creation and long-term economic development. to date, secretary salazar has approved 29 commercial-scale renewable energy projects on public lands. and these include 16 solar, five wind and eight geothermal projects that represent more than 6500 megawatts and 12,500 jobs. the blm's 2013 budget proposes a $5 million for these earths and we intend to reach our goal of having 11,000 megawatts of renewable energy production in 2013. finally, to

for tomorrow morning a few spotty showers with the onshore flow. nothing major. may impact you in san mateo, maybe down to palo alto but it's on friday evening that we'll have the better chance of widespread scattered showers. we're going to hold off on the consistent rainfall until saturday morning, 5, 6, 7, 8:00 in the morning. and that's where we could have an additional half inch of rainfall, maybe an inch across the north bay. then the chance of rain into saturday evening. here's the thing. if the you are doing any traveling north of let's say santa rosa, be prepared on interstate 5 to possibly encounter some flooding conditions up in the oregon, california border where we could have upwards of 3 to 6 inches of rainfall. it's going to be very tough go for you, may even want to think about altering your travel plans. the next wave of weather will bring possibly a foot or more to the sierra, great for skiers but saturday could be a tough day to travel that way. 51 in los gatos. 51 at concord and 49 in napa tomorrow morning with the patchy fog at the coast. we'

that is bringing some onshore flow to us. let's take you outside to our sky cam. across the golden gate bridge is a little bit of drizzle at times today. low cloud cover is going to persist with areas of patchy fog. not so much from a heavy storm that's coming in tonight, but just from that onshore flow. back to our maps, the storm track position just over us, we're talking about some flooding potential of rains up near redding, red bluff, chico, into the southern oregon in medford, that could produce anywhere from 3 to 6 inches. that rain line is just up to the north of us. we are really on the cusp of some big-time rainfall. but it's going to stay off to the north as we head throughout the next 12 hours. eventually we'll start to see this transition down here to the greater bay area into the first half of your weekend. we're only monitoring a few showers up near santa rosa. recorded less than .10 inches. current numbers, starting to see things drop off in san francisco with the onshore flow, 57. 61 in san jose and also 60 in livermore with 60 in concord. as for
