we spent a day with officer allen is opd in the city grapple with a deadly year, police have investigatedes so far, the latest, according to the department on november 14th when a man was shot and killed on 90th avenue near b street. astronomical i mean, it's really sad that that that's where we're at in the city. it's difficult. it's difficult as a community to, um kind of sit with that. oakland police chief laurent armstrong recently extended a plan to combat gun violence in the city through the end of the year, in addition to high visibility patrols during the holiday season. he announced the initial plan in september after eight people were killed in a seven day period. the plan includes adding officers permanently to its criminal investigations division staffing an ongoing issue, allen says. the department currently has 15 homicide investigators. each investigator receives an average of 8 to 10 cases per year alone that grows with each unsolved crime in the city. it's difficult, obviously, you know oakland are very busy city. the less officers obviously means that that's more that fa
