oprah winfrey, a part time resident of maui, visited survivors of the wildfire at an evacuation center. a nonprofit group posted this photo of winfrey at the war memorial gymnasium, where thousands of people have gathered. she talked with volunteers and evacuees. asked what they needed, then went out and bought supplies, including pillows, diapers, sheets and shampoos, and then handed them out. winfrey owns several properties on maui. it's not clear whether any of those were damaged in the fire. and golfer collin morikawa, the cal product, is donating money to support those that were affected by the fires in hawaii. former cal standout took to instagram to pledge $1,000 per birdie. he makes this month on the pga tour , all to go to recovery efforts . morikawa was born and raised in california, but his family immigrated to maui from japan. according to the pga tour, the restaurant his grandparents owned in hawaii burned down in those wildfires. while some airlines are adding flights to get people off the island of maui, many flights to maui have been canceled because of the emergency li
