yes, two of they have were when we switched from a district to city-wide or from city-wide back to district electionses, but there were also two situations where it was in the middle, you know, we were well into either city-wide or a district election race. when it comes to the mayoral vacancies, i do understand that they are rare in occurrence. five out of our history of 43 mayors as was mentioned. however, as i asked earlier, i do feel it is very inconsistent we are allowing the board president who, yes, is deemed in the charter to be able to fill a temporary vacancy to also fill a run for election in the subsequent election. the other thing that i would point out is that some of the logistical things that haven't been debated very much, but i have personal experience and really want to speak to, the temporary people who are appointed to serve to fill a vacancy on the board, you know, they're going to be sitting here taking votes on actual issues here they will probably -- i'm just imagining they will probably cater a lot more to the person who appointed them in that situation because the

i start my day from home by helping a student from sun set or richmond get to san francisco state or city college or i help someone in my neighborhood get to downtown. over the months i've become friends with a number of repeat passengers. they asked about my riding and i ask about their classes or careers. after my downtown drop off and head back to my neighbors. thanks to lift mid after my morning ride i have time to go home and work on either my writing or attempt to get my short stories published. thanks to lift i can pursue my dreams of becoming a fiction writer and not fear losing my home because i did not choose the 9:00 to 5:00 route. i'd like to let you know they have added so many layers to the people of the city. they are so kinds and caring and 3d and human and live and they have made me a better person. i wake up everyday to hang out with them and i am endlessly fortunate to call that my job. before lift i worked as a bartender and it was impossible to get a cab to take me back to the sun set. it is because i know this personally how difficult it can be to get a ride to this

we are living probably in the first or second most expensive city in the country. we have seen wages that have been stagnate for decades. so, what we are looking at really is an issue of economic equity. the hotel struggle whose anniversary is coming up in early august was not only about housing equity but also about economic equity. we see the faces here and i was very much moved by the comments of the ihs worker who is a seventh generation of san francisco. it's good to see the youth here in numbers that are telling what are the youth saying? they are saying they want a better life, they want economic quit, equity, they want economic equity, we've seen them take autopsy -- all of our raises and the work that our work has produced and put in their pockets. while we are increasing the minimum wage, we not only want to see a maximum equity and share, but there is much more to be done. i commend supervisor kim for sponsoring this. let's make it higher. let's work towards beyond 15 and working towards more economic equity, not only in san francisco but throughout this

i know that when supervisor chiu or city assessor chu was present in the budget committee, recivilianizing positions that were fallen to police officers that was better served by civilians was a priority. there were 53 budgeted positionses. 25 of those have been filled, 25 police officers -- full-duty police officers have gone back to the streets which is approximately half an academy class. we have 28 positions in the hiring process which will get us to the 53 and have 28 full-duty police officers identified as full-duty. that's more uniformed police officers where they should be on the street. the next slide is a slide that i've mentioned. the last couple years we had fallen to everyone in the san francisco police department was on the standard 10-hour day that most police officers in the country are on that are in patrol. so, when we went back to the standard where it was just for patrol, about 25% of the police department went to either the 8-hour day if they're an administrative assignment or 9 hour day if they're on assignment that requires additional training. that was a net gain of
