san francisco are organizing a memorial for this young girl killed tragically in an accident near oracle park. >> the death is sparking new calls for change from city leaders as ginger reports, leaders want to make sure this kind of thing never happens again. >> a week since that fatal accident just blocks away from oracle park in san francisco. pedestrian safety advocates are pushing for change to traffic safety at a rally tonight. this is the intersection of fourth and king where the crash took place. a witness told nbc bay area last week that a family was crossing the street when a gray mercedes suv hit the dad and the four-year-old girl he was pushing in the stroller. the girl was brought to the hospital where she later died. since then advocacy groups made a push for changes at this intersection, as well as others that are part of a network. the mayor's office and city agencies havic ta taken notice. the removal of one of the right turn lanes. also, the traffic signal will show a yellow arrow instead of a green light to reinforce the need for driver's to respond to pedestrians. the drive

this happened in san francisco right near oracle park last night. police say a mom and a dad were pushing their daughter in a stroller when that suv hit the dead and the little girl kron 4. sarah stinson has that story. >> we're here at the corner of 4th and king streets where a driver struck and killed a 4 year-old girl crime scene. techs are on scene trying to wrap up this area because it's been closed for hours now. we know a driver struck this 4 year-old girl was in a stroller at the time. her father was pushing her in the crosswalk. here and the mother was alongside them. now the stroller was pinned between a pull and the suv. mercedes, the girl and dad were rushed to the hospital after they were able to get the girl out from between that poll and the suv were told the father has life-threatening injuries. we're still waiting on an update on his condition. police say the mom was not injured this crash. happened one block from oracle park at 5.15, an hour and a half before the game started. crowds are really starting to grow here as they do righ
