the orange county animal shelter is nearing capacity, with more than 800 animals because of the fire down there. it needs to make room for the pets of evacuees or fire victims. the sf spca went down and picked up 67 dogs and cats to help ease the crowding. it's a life saving move. euthanasia rates are going up across the state. they have not done that in decades, so this is a massive way we can help by pulling animals out of shelters so that the local shelter doesn't have to make the euthanasia decisions in order to help the fire victims. okay, here are the details. these animals will be available for adoption here in the bay area. and if you cannot adopt, donations and foster homes are always needed as well. well, the clock is ticking. and today, a big push to get signed up to vote for the upcoming election. it is national voter registration day, san jose state. evelyn rios was among the many students who registered. she says the entire process took three minutes, and she says now she has peace of mind that she can be part of the decision process come november. as a minority, i feel
