oregon has five confirmed deaths of coronavirus.washington, more than 100 people have died from coronavirus. washington's stay-at-home order is in effect for two weeks. >>> new numbers shows coronavirus cases continues to rise dramatically in the u.s. there are now more than 46,000 cases across the country. that's 3,000 more than yesterday. there have been 593 u.s. deaths and for the first time since the coronavirus reached the u.s. the country reported more than 100 deaths in a single day. new york has more cases than any state in the u.s. starting today, new york health agencies will begin testing two drugs for possible virus treatment. work is also under way to quickly turn a convention center in new york city into a huge medical center. >> construction will start this week. we'll hope to have the construction done in about a week to 10 days. . >> now, yesterday, a shutdown began in new york state much like the one in california. the governor's order closes all nonessential businesses forcing millions of people to work from home.
