the civil liberties organizationsanted to know how the government has been interpreting a controversial provision of the patriot act thought to be responsible for ying on ordinary americans. technology companies are beginning to escalate their efforts to publicly disclose information about what the government has coerced them to share. yahoo and facebook filed a lawsuit. asking for permission to reveal the number and kinds of national security request they have received. remember google and microsoft filed similar lawsuits in june. both of those companies amended their petitions. i was joined earlier by elizabeth, codirector of liberty and national -- i asked what we can expect to learn from these documents. >> we will see the rationale for approving a book collection for all of the telephone records. we have a hint of what that rationale is. plus the legal justification for the program and what the court found is something along the lines of what the government put forward in that paper. at least we will have the chance to see the court waive some of the competing arguments about wheth

i also work in support of local community organizationses and individuals, they are engaging with california pacific medical center on proposed dba that the board of supervisors and the mayor eventually were able to resolve. i also did some work, legislative work not in the san francisco county area, but out in merced working with low-income tenants on housing issues. my five years has been focused mainly on housing benefits issues, but i do have a general overview of a lot of problems that face the community. i also teach a class on homelessness to the local [speaker not understood] at the school. i'm strongly interested in being a part of this board because i believe that while the local ngos that a really important role to play in trying to relieve some of these problems and necessity means we're very focused on specific areas. the city and county and local government has both a mandate and ability to look at the wider problems and try to create an environment where we can get some things done. i would like to bring some of my views and experience into the effort of trying to help the cit

. >> i don't mean to be facetious and worked as a teacher and nonprofit organizationses, both in media and out and now for a for profit company if we spent as much money and time as training teachers as i became a teacher i think my big skill coming out i went to nyu and bachelor's in elementary ed. i could thread a projector with the best of them and my career in the 70's and in the last panel "if you had all the money what would you invest in?" . i would invest in education and we're not investing in the future of the children and the in the country and the global future of our world and i agree absolutely with everything you said. we're short changing our kids and not giving teachers the resources. there is mold in the teacher's work room. if i worked in the building that many children go to school in i wouldn't go to work either and in answer to your question there is a priority here about education that's not quite right. >> and while we're earmarking money i would totally support that and i feel that we should train teachers in digital media. you can't teach cooking out a kitchen
