george in san francisco in the low 60s. 50s in orinda, 55 in redwood city according to robert sullivan. this is a view looking from -- boy, look at that view. you can almost see the avenues out there. you can see all the way to mount tam, unlimited visibility at this hour. got a bit of a breeze in oakland. offshore northeast at 17 miles per hour. here's what you need to know on this "hump day"! it's going to stay mild through thursday. and then unsettled weather begins on friday. both and windy conditions sunday. these clouds are all associated with a front that's way to the north of the bay area. they are under cutting the huge ridge of high pressure so that's why occasionally you see those clouds drifting in. so that's a key component right now. it's steering the storm track north of the bay area. so if it wasn't so, this low pressure would be taking aim at the bay area but instead we'll have a broad swipe of storm number 12 out of the 27 days so far in the month of january. all right. our outlook 8 to 14 days suggests from february 3 to the 9th we'll see above average precipitation

what going on now with pockets of light rain whether you are around the caldecott tunnel tunnel to orindae, heading to san leandro and from castro valley to dublin and san ramon and out to him and through the sunol grade, we have light rain at 280 and 85 and southeast all the way down to the santa teresa neighborhood but we have potential for flooding at the santa cruz mountains until 12:35 with a last green. no yellow. no red. light-to-moderate rainfall here and, again, until 12:45 the possibility, with not a lot of clouds but scattered pockets of light rain. now, flight arrival delays in sfo are down to 69 minutes from an hour and 53 minutes. we still have issues in lake tahoe but it is the area here where the bulk is falling through midnight at 6-12" before 6,000' and 12-18" at the highest emvacations. now, with our closeup visible satellite this takes a picture from 22,000 miles up you can see a line of clearing developing so we go from umbrellas to sunglasses as we head throughout the afternoon. right now you can see drizzle still falling but the showers will taper in afternoon. anot
