kpix 5's anne makovec is live in orinda with more on the staggering price tag of repairs. anne >>> reporter: i'm here in orinda because this city just ranked poor in the latest bay area road conditions survey. but you can see that about a lot of cities in the bay area, in similar shape on the roads. major roadway repairs cost 5 to 10 times more than routine maintenance. so it makes sense to fix our roads now rather than watch them fall further into disrepair. but there's no plan to do so right now, at least on the statewide level, as michelle mentioned, which means cities and counties will have to potentially foot their own bills in emergency repairs and liability like this scenario. >> there was, like, a big pothole coming off the freeway kind of hard to slow down on it. it's on the hill. you hit it and, like the oil pan came from under my car so i have to file a report with the city of oakland. >> reporter: and there's a potential bill for all of us taxpayers to pay. a new study by save california streets says current state funding amounts to about $2 billion a year. we

first a developing story from orinda. fbi agents are wrap ugh up a search of a home. >> henry lee joins us live from orinda with more. henry. >> reporter: minutes ago, a dozen agents left this home in orinda. they left in a car van of unmarked cars apparently done with the search. we're down the street from mira monte high school. fbi agents would not answer any questions but they are serving a search warrant in connection with a cyber crime. they appeared to be carrying out computer parts. some of the agents had jackets that head fbi cyber task force. no arrests were made at the home. we believe a family of five live here. a couple and their three school age children. i have also learned that the search is as a result of an ongoing investigation by a different fbi office and the local fbi is limited to this house. i called a phone number associated with this home, but the woman who answered said they were too busy to comment. live in orinda, henry lee, ktvu fox 2 news. >> thank you, henry. >>> we are learning more about
