orinda seeing some light rain. a similar story as we move towards walnut creek. so we will find some light showers early on, picking up in intensity a little bit later on this morning. so looking at the rainfall forecast throughout the day, you can really see we're focusing on this period between about 9 a.m. and noon. and that is when most of us will see the steadiest rain moving through our neighborhoods. after about noon, the rain chances drop off dramatically. you can see a big drop in our chance of any rain later on. this afternoon. we'll see a lot of sunshine as that front clears out the cloud cover later on today. so looking at rainfall estimates, we do anticipate as this map tries to update, probably a quarter of an inch, maybe a half of an inch of rain in some spots. so needless to say, you will be a little bit of a slow go getting to where you need to go this morning as this front moves through here. so looking at the next three days you go from morning rain to afternoon sunshine. it is a level one on the abc seven storm impact scale. tomorrow is totall

so is orinda and lafayette 40s there. but the higher clouds are keeping us from getting colder, and we would have had, i think, a lot more 30s if it wasn't for these higher clouds. now there is kind of a back edge up here, but that won't be until later today. that's when the wind will start to pick up. this is a developing system. it's going to drop into arizona to take that place to the low. they just had, depending on how deep and strong it is, that will dictate kind of on the wind. this will be more likely wednesday into thursday then we can kick it out of here. but it was cold this morning for some, especially south gilroy, hollister, felton all between 37 and 39. healdsburg, petaluma, saratoga, kentwood and palo alto 41 to 42 cool degrees 40s 50s. right now. i mean, i think we bottomed out with the higher clouds. we're not going to get cooler. and there they are. so we got a sunny day yesterday and warmth today will be a lot of high clouds and still mild. the concerns for the fire continue until hopefully next week.

highway 24, in orinda, and we can turn the camera around to show you the conditions right now. and it's improved. quite a bit from just ten minutes ago, when the rain was really coming down and we could barely see the roadways and have the windshield wipers going at full tilt. now throughout the morning, the rain was sort of on and off depending on when and where you were. but by 7:00 this morning, we even saw a little bit of the sunrise. beautiful shot of eastbound highway 24 in lafayette. no rain there. in fact, we saw that sunshine peeking through the morning clouds with mount diablo in the distance, but the commute wasn't as pretty in other parts of the bay area this morning, especially the north bay. that's where we saw the heaviest rainfall earlier this morning. we spoke with chp about the behavior they want drivers to avoid, especially in these conditions. >> our number one message in storms is slow down on our roads. the number one cause of vehicle spin outs in the rain is unsafe speed. so just slow down. take your time. no sudden movements and just make sure your vehic
