orinda seeing some light rain. a similar story as we move towards walnut creek. so we will find some light showers early on, picking up in intensity a little bit later on this morning. so looking at the rainfall forecast throughout the day, you can really see we're focusing on this period between about 9 a.m. and noon. and that is when most of us will see the steadiest rain moving through our neighborhoods. after about noon, the rain chances drop off dramatically. you can see a big drop in our chance of any rain later on. this afternoon. we'll see a lot of sunshine as that front clears out the cloud cover later on today. so looking at rainfall estimates, we do anticipate as this map tries to update, probably a quarter of an inch, maybe a half of an inch of rain in some spots. so needless to say, you will be a little bit of a slow go getting to where you need to go this morning as this front moves through here. so looking at the next three days you go from morning rain to afternoon sunshine. it is a level one on the abc seven storm impact scale. tomorrow is totall

orinda is 38, lafayette 37. dublin 39. so there are plenty of 30s to the south, which has more clearing versus the north, which is getting the cloud cover already. 23 truckee, 18. south lake tahoe 31 reno. winter weather advisory starts late this afternoon. goes till this evening. it's going to take a while before this system arrives. so for the morning i think you're okay for the evening. afternoon, though it's going to move into the north. it may take until this evening before it gets east and south. and by the time it does, it will start to fall apart. i think a little wave that's a little low forming on the front will also slow it down. but the main upper low is going to do this. it's going to hang around and kind of just do this, kind of do this and then hang around all the way into friday. so with that near us, the next system is going to have not a lot of moisture after today, but it will trigger some activity, especially up in the mountains. you can see a little bit of snow here, 2 to 4 on the initial system. then

orinda 1.53 san francisco. just trace amounts in san jose, but a half an inch in redwood city, a third of an inch in hayward and still counting downpours. gusty winds. level three with the flooded roads, mudslides, downed trees and that train of steady moisture beginning to sink to the south and east. so look at the lighter shades up in the north bay. now, we've had over 11in here in the past couple of days, setting a record in santa rosa. so the folks up to the north need a break. but this highlighted area here is all the areas we're watching for flooding, flood warning until 5:00 here for san francisco. we go in closer and you'll notice over into the east bay it's until 6:00 down the peninsula. following that line of heavy rain until early tomorrow morning. pescadero there and up in the north bay, those rivers guerneville, the russian river still flooding and looking at until about 4:00 on monday. so it takes about a day or so for the water to recede after the rain stops. and it is barely stopping. in parts o

you can see all the way out towards orinda, lafayette, even into moraga, crockett, concord. you're getting some steady rain. san francisco down the peninsula, also getting wet into redwood city and san mateo, widening the picture. this atmospheric river is a level two storm. that area of low pressure that you're seeing over the pacific, that bombed out yesterday night, bombogenesis tying with the previous record of 942 millibars in the northeast pacific, which was years ago. so it has been an intense storm. that bomb cyclone affecting the pacific northwest, not us, but the atmospheric river will continue to cause pouring rain across the north bay this evening. as we head into 830, you will notice some light to moderate rain and other parts of the bay area as well. it's wet at 10 p.m. the rain just keeps on coming and we notice the winds right now. big rock ridge 58 miles an hour. we've seen gusts as high as 70 miles an hour over our higher elevations right now in oakland, gusting to 35. san jose 32 from our mount tam cam, you can see just how windy it is. rain is certainly a

so is orinda and lafayette 40s there. but the higher clouds are keeping us from getting colder, and we would have had, i think, a lot more 30s if it wasn't for these higher clouds. now there is kind of a back edge up here, but that won't be until later today. that's when the wind will start to pick up. this is a developing system. it's going to drop into arizona to take that place to the low. they just had, depending on how deep and strong it is, that will dictate kind of on the wind. this will be more likely wednesday into thursday then we can kick it out of here. but it was cold this morning for some, especially south gilroy, hollister, felton all between 37 and 39. healdsburg, petaluma, saratoga, kentwood and palo alto 41 to 42 cool degrees 40s 50s. right now. i mean, i think we bottomed out with the higher clouds. we're not going to get cooler. and there they are. so we got a sunny day yesterday and warmth today will be a lot of high clouds and still mild. the concerns for the fire continue until hopefully next week.
