they really saved new orleans. new orleans tried to give back, we tried to do a dunkirk. we heard on the radio people were trapped in the superdome and convention center and people of goodwill of all ages, raises, social and economic background got in their cars and tried to go in the city and pick people up. we were stopped from entering the city. i remember that night, the only time we could get self-service in the middle of the night, friends were calling to check on me and i said you don't know what is happening down here, people are stranded, we have always known if the levees break, the city will be destroyed. in california where i live, the big one had come, the big earthquake. you have to send help, let everyone know. is on tv. i said it can't be on tv. it is on tv. that is the memory i have of katrina. the poetic truth is people of goodwill from around the world saved us and really reached out, the city, memphis, atlanta, that is the prophetic truth, we found the better angels with in ourselves. >> you talk a little bit about the term awakening. this is my awaken
