i'm suzeorman, and are you watching "the suze orman show. people are looking at me and going what's wrong? they're saying, oh, my god, su sdmr e. our mailbox is overflowing with viewers writing in to say, suze, my bank has just increased the minimum payment on my credit card bill. what can we do about this? why are they doing this? they shouldn't be allowed to do it, and have i to tell you, i agree with you. let's talk a little bit about what credit card companies are doing to you and why i personally think, oh, banks, they're being bullies right now. so many times what you are really paying attention to, most of the time, is the interest rate that credit card companies, the bank happens to be charging you. you get upset when it goes from 4.9% to 32% and rightfully so. however, that in the long run will hurt you. what really matters and what determines your monthly payment is not the interest rate, but it's the minimum payment due and the percentage of that minimum payment. let me give you an example. if you owe $10,000 on a credit card rega
