a second school is on ortega street. jade hernandez has all the details. >> reporter: several things are very unusual about the thefts. first of all what thieves are targeting copper and how many times the school you see behind me has been hit. four times. we are live at the allis fong yu school. the school has been hit four times from wednesday through sat of last week. i spoke to to an officer by phone this morning. to make sure thieves don't steal anymore copper police have camped up patrols and put plain clothed officer in the area. unfortunately, it's not the only school facing copper thefts here in san francisco. here at the french school located a few minutes away from alice fong an employee witnessed two men removing copper rain gutters on sunday. they can't link the two thefts together and haven't made any arrests but they say these cases are unusual. sfpd has a description of the thief in one of the thefts but is not releasing it because the case is still ongoing. she served as assistant principal in ortega and was a principal at columbus elementary school courier -- elementary school. she was a model for her peers and for those who follow her. she imparted enthusiasm for the arts as she played piano, taught music for her students, and organize a glee club. she will be missed by all of us during her time on this earth. may we all be comforted by the thought she is in a better place where there is joy, peace, happiness, and music. we will also close in memory of dr. jackson, a friend of all of us. >> the doctor died on august 6, 2011, at age 74. he is survived by his beloved wife, both of whom are retired teachers, his daughters, and eight grandchildren, cousins, and friends. he often used to say he had been involved in the school district for 70 years and went on to study at 11 institutions of higher learning. he received a doctorate from the university of southern california and continued as a lifelong learner. he spent many years as an educator, was an aspiring teacher -- inspiring teacher. i had the privilege of representing at his funeral a
