in the 1820s, lafayette stepped in to help a group of osage indians who had traveled to france. 1827,where they were initially treated as celebrities and were even presented to king charles, the 10th. after they arrived. no no fewer than four pamphlets were published about them, and they were were wildly popular and people people were eager to see them and meet them. and that went on for a while. here is an illustration from one of those pamphlets. this particular pamphlet was entitled six red indian. however, interest in them and support it in the support their sponsors began to wane over time and unfortunately the soldiers were left and wandering. in 1829, the six soldiers split into. groups three, three, two groups of three, with one group going to mont upon france where they were aided by the people there to return home. this, i think, is is the first group here and these are just fantastic images by by louis leopold barley. there were two women and four men see the second group that's just. here is second group. and this group ended up in paris and and again destitute. let me sho
