i truly believe that our city government should be enriching our neighborhoods. i'm a proud parent. i'm a public schoolteacher and a lifelong san franciscan. i want to ensure that san francisco is a family friendly city. as a renter and a public school et teacher, i can tell you it is difficult for people to aafford to live in the sunset neighborhoods. the cost of child care means my wife had to leave her full-time job. i know the pain of the housing crisis firsthand. these issues are personal to me. if elected supervisor, i will prioritize family sized affordable housing, increase the amount of affordable housing across the entire city, and work to expand and improve policies that help families find housing in the sunset and park side neighborhoods. we must continue to improve public safety in our communities as well. i will work closely with the sfpd to keep our neighborhoods safe, especially from property crime and car break-ins, our police department has been chronically under staffed for years, making it improbable to do the necessary ples work in our communities. when we see ou

so our vision is to be a city that embraces technology. to enhance quality of life in our public spaces. that's where we're really heading. in terms of the process, and what we've done thus far, we kicked off a public process on july 9. and we really started with listening. we wanted to understand and listen to the challenges from all sides of the table. so that included community groups, labor groups, accessibility stakeholders, the technology sector, our own city family as well as a variety of community advocates. from moving on from the listening sessions, we were really trying to understand and identify what the needs are with this new permitting and regulation for the emerging technologies. and then the last meeting was to develop some initial recommendations and possible actions of what the city might take. and so our next and final public meeting will be on november 5. we will be presenting our draft recommendation and sort of initial actions. so here we see some of the kind of themes and tracks of what we heard throughout the proces

the enrollment at city college exceeded our most optimistic prediction of what we thought would occur after we made city college free, which is -- speaks to both the success of this program but also speaking to the incredible thirst of our residents to attend our only lifelong learning institution, city college. i am putting forward a charter amendment which would create a dedicated fund for ten years for the free city program set annually at $15 million from the general fund, so less than what proposition w brought in in the first fiscal year. this will be available to all san francisco resident does who are enroll or will enroll in the city college of san francisco and will also create a more robust financial aid program for low-income students who are already eligible for free city previous to proposition w passing where they will receive a $500 stipeyd persemester if they are full-time and 200 if they are part-time. what we learns was low-income students still did not enroll in free community college because now books and transportation and child care costs more that be enrolling

our streets every day. not just in san francisco but cities throughout this state. this is not progressive to sit by while people unravel and die on our streets. to be clear, we are not talking about most homeless people. large majority of homeless people are not what this bill is about. this is about a small percentage of chronic homeless people, who are incapable of making decisions for themselves due to severe mental health and drug addiction issues. who are incapable of accepting services. we need to help these people and we need to stop just letting people unravel and die on our streets. the city of san francisco and other cities have told us, is that the current conservativeship laws in california, are not meeting the meets, particularly of people with severe drug addiction. people who are cycling in and out of the psyche of emergency room and they're backout on the streets unraveling more and more. we need to help get these people into housing, into services, get people stable and healthy and do everything we can to get their lives on track and that is what se
