erin: the nba world has shown an outpouring of support, losing an all-time great coach. just as they are about to start a new season, former wizards coach flip saunders died at the age of 60. let's look at his remarkable career. saunders first became an nba coach in 1996 with the timberwolves, leading the team to eight straight playoff appearances. he specialized in coaching point guards, and under saunders kevin garnett developed into one of the best players in the nba, becoming an m.v.p. in 2009, saunders was hired as the wizards head coach, where he was instrumental in the development of john wall. five years later, he returned to minnesota to once again become the timberwolves head coach come in addition to front office duties. in august, saunders underwent for hodgkin's lymphoma, and today it was announced by the team he died at the age of 60. there have been many moving tributes to flip saunders today, none more so than this photo from kevin garnett. it shows how devastated he is by the news. he posted this picture on facebook, which reads, "forever in my heart." s
