we developed an outreach program. we created a flyer that was directed at construction sites and my officers when they passed a construction site or see those sites hand the tip out and safe has been a great collaborator and amazing assistance to us in community meeting and in general. so not only did we do that we also created a program whereby anybody who's a victim in our district of our burglary we have an officer meet with that individual. and the idea is to go through their home and make suggestions on how just assessing their home to make sure it's safe. and we the recommendation for safe to respond out to tell them they have the option of having safe come out and assess and give them suggestions in how to stay safe. it's really -- i think when people ray victim of a -- are a victim of a burglary we want them to regain their confidence in their own home. in addition we do an environment assessment around every home. so if we see like bad lighting or think shrubs need to be cut back my officer who happens to com

[laughter] and then the last thing i wanted to mention is that i believe it was about three weeks ago president yie announced the idea of having a name change for the departments of aging and adult services and you may have seen that. that it was introduced. and that he's hoping to get that name change on the ballot. one of the things that's a little complicated about our name is that's actually in charter, which means it would have -- there would have to be a charter amendment in order to change the name. and so that means that it needs to go to the ballot. and one of the things that we're doing right now, as an agency, is we're about to launch -- we've been doing a lot of background work and about to launch a rebrand. we're rebranding the agencies as a whole and the departmentses and really trying to, you know, communicate better with the public about who we are as an agency and wha

throughout the outreach, i met and spoke with many parents of immigrants. i met many of them, and i know that they recognize the importance of the power of voting, and there's many parents that value this right, but this is not -- this is not just about recognizing the value of voting but also participating in the school district. our community understands the value of being able to participate openly and freely. much of their testimonies that i -- that i heard spoke much about the fear that their families were being separated have a conflict of interest, deciding whether they should vote or feel secure. as a mother leader, i would like that they -- that they brought in other resources -- the resources that we have for outreach to be able to clue more families, to be able to incorporate more immigrant families in this process. we need time for doing that and to generate the trust and the consciousness in providing this issue in order to be able to motivate more parents. my wish is to be able to continue this work and to keep raising our voice so that ultima

i am the vision zero outreach coordinator. i will be giving you an update on our education and communications. we have radio and video prepared for you so hopefully it plays. this is a quick slide of what we came to present last time we were here. a lookahead of campaigns to look forward to in 2019 and the next slide we will speak more to it. this slide you have in your packets is just an idea of the types of metrics that we collect each month around education and communications. these are our metrics for the quarters as of mid-june. i'm going to explain the next line. if it works the video will start playing and it features our campaigns that we launched for the quarter. in april which was distracted driving awareness month and we launched our campaign. may wasn't motorcycle safety month and we launched the third year of our office of traffic safety motorcycle safety campaign as well as a driving to date campaign. the video should play. we have our pedestrian yielding campaign on the streets. there is no sound, but you can se

there was no substantial response to outreach by property owner. to date, there are problems with the equal enforcement with the liens, and also vacant buildings and registration requirements as documented by complaint data sheets. 655 alvarado street is suspended and with no current permits like to enforce state street. this commission should be vocal because they appeared before you one year ago. 655 alvarado has no assessment liens and no vacant building registration. forty-nine hopkins street has three assessment liens and no vacant voter registration. 214 state street has three two months of assessment liens that have been paid for, and they two week -- to be determined amount for the april billing which has yet to be determined and shared with the property owner and has been acquired -- required to report as a vacant building. there are problems of communication between staff. for instance, on the vacant building registration, staff on e-mails to the property owner requires registration of a vacant building. staff on the complaint datasheet a
