vernon. >> reporter: rick, it is very calm and quiet here along woodcrest avenue in overbrook tonight. there's a certain serenity here but the trauma is far from gone in the wake of the violence that erupted here just over a week ago. police say the overnight arrest of 15-year-old tyfine hamilton wraps up their week long manhunt for three murder suspects. over brook's james stuhlman was shot and killed as he walked his dog through the neighborhood. surveillance video indicated it was a robbery attempt. police were soon able to focus on hamilton and his high school mate brandon smith who is locked up as well. a 14-year-old is also in custody. overnight in the 2800 block of midvale hamilton's parents surrendered him to a heavily armed contingent of police. >> they saw the father, they actually talked to the father. the father said he's not here but he called the mother who lives up in the west oak lane area and they arranged for a meet in the 2800 block of midvale avenue. >> reporter: hamilton and smith are charged here as adults. both police say have prior arrest records for robbery. d

nbc 10's monique braxton is live in overbrook. you've been following this investigation all morning long. what have you learned? >> reporter: yes, vai. we have been following the investigation for several hours now and police tell us although they believe they have the three teens responsible for killing james stuhlman, right here near this fire hydrant where you see the stuffed animal they also tell us their investigation is far from over. now, a short time ago, our camera was rolling when detectives searched one of the places 15-year-old tyfine hamilton lived. we found him in 29the 2100 block of wanamaker. police sources say they're looking for the deadly weapon. it is being described as a revolver. a woman who answered the door told us she's hamilton's stepmother and she's sorry. police sources also say his father helped facilitate hamilton's arrest overnight. we spoke with commissioner ramsey about that. >> this child murdered someone. and i would hope that a parent would step up and take their kid in so they can be you know d

"eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is live at philadelphia police headquarters with new information on this investigation. todd? >> reporter: jessica a 14-year-old who was a person of interest was being questioned here by detectives in connection to that murder. also this evening we were out in west philadelphia right near 65th and girard avenue. that's where detectives as well as members of the philadelphia crime seen unit were out. they were searching a home there again at 65th and girard avenue. they were looking for any kind of evidence or clues that could possibly be connected to thursday's murder. 51-year-old james stoleman was shot and killed why walking his dog in his overbrook neighborhood. that shooting happened just before 9:00 o'clock at night. police believe that as many as three suspects could have been involved in that shooting. investigators believe the shooting may have began actually as an attempted robbery on the 6400 block of woodcrest avenue. stoleman and f
