retirement centers and to give you an example from louisiana's largest health care system, that is oxnard health, 80% of their patients in the icu are on ventilators and that is 30% of the patients. they're working to get more icu beds in the hospital and they put in an order of 200 beds two weeks ago and starting to get them in. so they're moving patients who are not affected by the virus to specialty hospitals, to orthopedic floors to separate them from the patients with the virus. they're looking at their own employees right now. they have 25,000 staff members, so far 60 have tested positive. but hundreds of others are showing symptoms. they're trying to get tests out as quickly as they can. and just like everywhere else in the country, there is a need for ppes, masks, anything they could do right now. right now louisiana is in trouble. and everybody there is sounding the alarm, jake. >> dianne gallagher, thank you so much. >>> also bracing for the impact of coronavirus, rural hospitals across the united states. ones that are already struggling to stay afloat. cnn medical correspondent

s as the bills role i ann is on the phone from oxnard.rom the lastng caller about gratitude, i want to give a shout out to the ucla medical center. my husband and i were there a few days ago for him to get his chemotherapy. they are fabulous there. host: how is your husband doing? you know, he's about six months into a two-year chemotherapy treatment. so, he's all right. he's not doing well because he just got chemotherapy. but anyway, they do iv chemotherapy in the hospital. but my husband is actually a hospital pharmacist but hasn't been able to work because of the leukemia and he was forced into retirement because he was supposed to get near a logical last monday. he had an appointment. we got a call from the no rolla just saw office saying that they were -- got a call from the 's office saying they were closed because of coronavirus. his employer said he had to make a decision by the end of the week about retirement and he was going to use the data from the test to help him make the decision and they basically said sorry, we can't do
