p.a. turnpike. tracy. >> 6:32.following breaking news in philadelphia following a night of whipping winds, a big tree came down in the city's germantown neighborhood pulling down wires. katy zachry has a look at the damage. >> reporter: it was a busy few hours for philadelphia firefighters and utility workers in the germantown section of philadelphia, as we zoom in we're standing on a property off of church lane and you can see an old tree toppled down on a barn in the rear of the house and destroyed the barn. there were no animals in the barn, i'm told by neighbors the animals were in another building on this property. when the tree came down i'm told it brought down utility lines with it. the result of that was a small fire. there was a lot of smoke, there were few flames. they were able to get the fire under control in a short amount of time. one neighbor told me he heard a loud boom and that's the time we're told this old dead tree came down on the barn. city workers with the licenses and inspections department

p.a. turnpike. that will be moving into the philadelphia area, but you see moisture down to our south and west. there's not a lot of it moving in this direction, so really what we're going to see is just light showers moving through. so here's future weather over the next couple hours, still expect to see that through the philadelphia area. by 10:00 p.m. we could see another area moving into new jersey and delaware so kind of pushing to the south and east. temperatures could still be well above freezing in these areas. then we go overnight, temperatures will be dropping down, by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning we could still see some of this in south jersey and delaware. if any of this were to continue north and west that's where we would see freezing rain developing but we'll be watching early tomorrow as we go through the morning to see the wintry mix, a chance it could be by 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon we're looking at temperatures around 40. then colder as we go into thursday morning temperatures in t

officials today postponed plans to close 86-mile stretch of the turnpike in western p.a.llowing the storm. that runs from breeze wood to new stanton in westmoreland county. crews plan to close westbound lanes today but do work tomorrow. the same stretch had to be closed this weekend so crews could remove hundreds of stranded cars and trucks. the westbound lanes are expected to be closed for about three hours starting at 9:00 tomorrow morning. >>> from the nbc 10 south jersey bureau, much to the irritation of parents a plan to redraw school district boundaries has been approved. this is in the washington township school district. 8% to 13% of students will have to change schools. it due to happen in the coming school year. some parents are working on a petition to keep neighborhood students from being bussed to a different school. so far, 460 people have signed on. >>> new video from the borga it. a hotel and casino. the new outdoor swimming pool complex is expected to look like. it's part of $350 million development. project includes nightclub, restaurant, casual dining a
