p.a. turnpike moving mostly to the north and east. here is a look at montgomery county, you see the heavier band around 476 meets the p.a. turnpike. an area we're watching, heading to gwyneth township. but the darker colors, the heavier snow is. better visibility in these areas, but we're seeing the rain a little farther to the south so parts of middle town, symrna, delaware, georgetown in the area where we have heavier showers kind of embedded in the lighter rain. for the rest of this evening, periods of snow some moderate to heavy. low visibility, that's a problem and late tonight some of this could stick so. the areas of concern with the lower visibility are mostly philadelphia, and to the north and west, wilmington still seeing a half mile visibility, coatesville a half mile. pottstown also reading 3/4 mile visibility. also through the philadelphia area. but as the snow continues progressing to the north and east those areas then will start to see even lower visibility. temperatures are still above freezing for most of the area. 3

p.a. turnpike is doing the same construction project. it's moved out of the way. speeds are way up there into the mid-60s. mass transit for the most part is doing okay. thorn dale is running about ten minutes behind schedule. >>> following breaking news out of philadelphia this morning cab driver is recovering after he was stabbed on the job. nbc's matt delucia is live this. matt, what happened? >> reporter: well, tracy, the drive managed to get himself to the hospital. take a look at this video here. here is that driver. he escaped with only minor injuries, a couple of stab wounds to his hand. philadelphia police say it could have been a lot worse. the cab drive picked up a guy just before midnight between south and fourth streets. he went a couple of blocks. 's when the passenger said he had a gun and demanded the driver's money. a knife came out, there was a struggle, and the driver was stabbed twice in the hand. >> we're really careful when we pick up passengers for their bags, what's in their hand. >> we're looking at cameras to see if we can find anything th
