we look at second through fifth grade at the last p.d., we took part of our p.d. time and we did backwards mapping with the power standards. we set a 10-week plan. we set objectives. i have those copies if we need them. we have those for kindergarten and first grade who are not generally tested and i just wanted to give you the perspective from the academic success of our students. thank you for your time. >> thank you, ms. torres. next speaker? >> hi, my name is lee anne and teach at buena vista elementary school. every year we have unique challenges. this year our challenge has been getting through a retro fitting construction project. there are some teachers at our school have who have moved three times during the course of this year to accommodate the builders. i think we have done a great job keeping our morale up. knowing that in the end we will have a beautiful school. we received a special offer. the district was offering us the intent of becominging the first spanish emergent school in san francisco. we were told we had to decide if we wanted this before

>> the p.d. is heavily involved in this investigation.lead they have. there was a long period that went by before they became involved. about a month, at least, before we got them to reopen the case. so i feel like they lost some valuable time. but i think that we have done a lot of clues on facebook. that we have offered them. and i think they have found a lot of things themselves. >> how disappointed were you that it did take so long? because you did go to the police a lot of times with some legitimate information. maybe not as legitimate in their eyes, but for you knowing there was a problem. >> it was very frustrating. and we were scared. we were terrified that something bad had happened to her. and so i think that, you know, after we kept pushing and prodding them, and went to them with our time line of information that we had gathered, you know, that's what finally made them open the case. >> at what point did you decide that we need to become investigators here and really help move this along? >> i think i did this from day one. as

. >> reporter: miami p.d.sponded to the scene. 18-year-old high school student antoine darling arrested at gunpoint and charged with felony burglary. court records revealed darling, now a freshman linebacker at the university of cincinnati, had been arrested twice before. for marijuana possession to which he pleaded no contest, and a weapons charge which was later dropped. in the burglary case, darling completed an intervention program. a record the school evidently knew nothing about. >> we found that in many cases, even the coaches don't know the full extent of the players' criminal history. >> reporter: darling's criminal history was just a small part of a ground-breaking, six-month, cbs news/"sports illustrated" investigation, focusing on crime and recruiting in big-time college football. and what we found was striking. through an exhaustive series of background checks we discovered 7% of the nearly 3,000 players on si's 2010 top 25 preseason football rosters had been in trouble with the law. more than 200
