so, what you have now is typically a bill from p.g. and e., a gas portion and an electric portion cleared marked. look at the electric portion. you'll get a usage area and a box at the end. it will break down like this. it says five rate tiers you call them. you get a baseline rate at a cheap amount. you get another 30% amount at a cheap rate. this is your baseline rates, these two. but when you use more, you pay more. and what it looks like graphically is, boy, there is a lot up here. so these rates are where your big expenses come. if you're in these rates, solar can make a lot of sense. they go up very dramatically, 222 cents, 32. let's say we have a case study. you have a $100 electric only. that's $1,200 a year. after 10 years, it's $12,000 if rates don't rise. let's assume that rates rise at the historical average which has been 6% over the past 30 years. so let's assume -- i think that might be conservative, let's assume that. so that means that after 10 years, you'll probably have paid out $16,000 and your bill by then will be

he had written an essay about p.g. woodhouse, so i wrote to mr. woodhouse and asked him if i could photograph him and i guess either he called me or -- i know i was on the phone with him and i wanted to go and photograph him at 3:00 and he said why didn't i come around 4:00, and i said well, i could come at 4:00. i said, "i know you watch "edge of night" every day at 3:30 and i would like to come at 3:00 and give you my word of honor, i will not say a peep if you'll let my take a picture of you watching your show." so he said, "oh, ok." so i went and took a picture of him watching "edge of night," and i took many pictures. i thought it was easier for you to choose a picture with "edge of night" on the screen, but as that take progressed, you could see him just sitting on the edge of his chair as, you know, the story was evolving, and then there's one where there's a couple kissing and he's just really into this program. i had a nice time. he is in my "writers and their familiars" postcard book with his dauchsund jed, and he and his wife were very

white, just last week i photographed p.g. woodhouse who was 96, and i did rex stout the day before yesterday and he's 86." i said, "you're not even in your 70's. your a spring chicken." and he paused and he said, "well, come along, then." so i said, "thank you, thank you. i promise you, i'll take a taxi from the airport. i'll have the taxi wait in the driveway. i'll be in and out before you know it." so i went and did him. it was a winter day when i went to do him the first time. i photographed him out in the snow with the employees around his house and we had a very nice time. i spent a few hours, maybe an hour -- i don't know. i do know i kept the blue hill taxi waiting for me. and when i returned to new york, i sent him an album of photographs, and a thank you note. the whole time i was there he kept saying, "oh, it's too bad it's not spring because i usually write in the boathouse. in fact, that's where i wrote "charlotte's web." so i became obsessed about going back and photographing him in the boathouse, which indeed i
