that was really the heart of pacific palisades. a little bit later we are going to go deeper and some of these neighborhoods and some of these magnificent neighborhoods at least they were magnificent and show you some different aspects of this. you look at the trees and the burns all around the smoke is clearing get a lot of areas so they have been able to get some of the air assets. we have seen a number of planes fly over we have seen helicopters dropping the flyover target. so the wind is down low enough where at least in the areas that are burning, the embers are no longer going from left to right. no longer moving 100 feet per second. the embers and i'll just drifting up in the air so they have here as if they are fairly innocuous at this point in time but when the wind shifts and changes what happens is those numbers become lethal all over again. there were reports of human remains being found in the malibu area. we sent max gordon up there he is live for us to tell us what he learned. >> an update on the palisades fire and m

as we keep going, you can see to the west of us, this is pacific palisades area. this area we saw a lot of the smoke earlier this morning had cleared out. is white and light gray building smoke in that corner, that popped up recently. that shows there is still an active fire billing because the wind had cleared all the smoke in that area. we are smack dab in the middle of these major wildfires, about 18 miles in the middle away from both fires. that is how close we are. the air really poor right now. that is why we have several schools closed in the county. about 10% of the schools in los angeles county are closed today. several people have been impacted because they may work in a particular area. we are seeing less cars on the roadway. i don't know if you can see down. i can see the road to just out of our office and there is usually several cars, it's usually packed full of cars and we are seeing a few out there right now. this has really impacted the entire county of los angeles. fire officials made a portent point. they said they were prepared for one or two m

when it comes to the pacific palisades fire.chief moroney had said, this is over 3000 acres at this point and continues to grow. we will confirm the exact acreage later, so we'll make sure that we also communicate that to the community and to the media. last night, as of 19 30 hours, all all aircrafts were grounded due to the high winds. aircrafts are continued to be able to resume their water drops and acreage mapping today when the weather allows us to do so. a total of 3398 civilians and 15,105 structures are in the evacuation zone. and again, the evacuation zones are the following. north of pch, west of kenter avenue and san vicente boulevard, south of mulholland drive and east of topanga canyon boulevard. there are multiple evacuation centers which are supported by the american red cross. injuries. of course, there's a lot of interest in injuries. we have several firefighters and civilian injuries that have been reported, and all patients have been treated and transported to the local hospitals, damage assessments. chief mo
