i'm pacific islander on campus and one of the few pacific islanders advocating for all the pis [speaker not understood]. i'm happy that you're here because all of these people live in your jurisdiction. so, thank you so much and john avalos. i just want to state that six years ago i started at ccsf and this fall i'll be transferring to sf state. it took me six years, but three years throughout my six years to advocate and ask for resources and ask for implementations on policies that affect my people, my pacific islander folks. the same people who are here to attack and judge accjc were the same people who resisted change in this college. and i'm standing here as a student and as an advocate, it is a shame. for me to see this happening when we all could have just been like let's work together. that was the problem. we are judging these people that came in, that i saw that problem six years ago. they just barely got here a year ago to address the same issues that i've been fighting for, undermining the work that students who are making a change part of a whole new program to address equi

african-americans comprised 26 person and caucasian were counted and latinos had 12 percent and pacific islanders 3 percent. our staff speaks several languages including cantonese and spanish. two of our investigators are bilingual spanish speakers which is important because the largest number of interviews we conduct are in spanish. for languages other than the one previously mentioned we'll get those services. we have intakes in spanish and 5 in cantonese. we're located on the corner of van ness and marketed. we're assessable by public transportation for walk in complainants but we receive complaints regarding police conduct from 12 calls by e-mail and faxes. we're open monday through friday between 8 and 5 and on the off hours we have on a answering service. you can file a complaint with the district station and they'll forward it to us. if any of you would like additional information i'm previously introduced a senior member ed and he's hear to hear your concerns. thank you >> thank you for your presentation. you know, we're very lucky director hicks has really turned the organization around

afternoon, my name is nu, i am a documented, i'm here represented aspires, a group that's with the pacific islanders as well asing prehealth dreamers, a group that's wanting to become doctors and nurses, and i'm here to really continue to add to how important healthy san francisco is for the undocumented community. originally from thailand, i lived in the bay area since i was 9 years old and growing up, my family was never rely relied on going to the doctor to treat our illnesses because we didn't think anything was out there that we would be eligible for and we lived to the best of our ability to not get sick and it was in 2007 that my mom was rushed to the emergency room after she fainted from excessive bleeding and that was when we found out she had tumors and cysts in her ovaries and you know the doctor say if we waited any longer, she could be in real danger and it was because she was uninsured and she didn't have the preventive care that would have prevented her from needing to have the surgery that she did, and healthy san francisco would have done that for her, it is doing that for thousands

our actual workforce representation is 29% african-american, 22% hispanic, 16% asian-pacific islander, 6% filipino, and 27% white. ~ 26%. so, we are very difficult verse in our staffing. in terms of the other for cultural competency, we offer our clients in terms of access, language line, we have english and spanish publications. also our reception area which is our first contact point, we have multiple language spoken in that area. in terms of overtime, we have zero overtime we we always have ceo overtime. so, keeping up the good fight. ~ zero we do community policing b we offer staff time off, and we give them time to do that. those are two things, we do pink saturday and also halloween in the castro district. but we do not authorize any overtime. staff basically look at that part of our community corrections or community relations opportunity. in terms of the clients that we service, high-risk, high-need as we talked about, substance abuse, 82% of our clients, we do risk needs assessment on our clients and 82% have a substance abuse issue or need to be addressed. vocation and educa
