[sea gulls calling] bonnie: sonny is a fisherman that we've been working with since kachka's opened. he's part of the quinault tribe in washington. what's unique about sonny is that he really understands the product in a way that a lot of other fish purveyors don't. it's really wonderful when you find those sorts of relationships. sonny: so this is the quinault river here, and that's the mouth of the river down there. we have on the reservation 28 miles of coastline. the reservation itself is about 210,000 acres. and right now, we're fishing for coho and kings. that cycle, that pattern of harvesting in the fall time, is really ingrained in us. and it's like, you know, everybody gets excited when fishing starts, and it's really a special time. on the reservation, we manage our own river, our own system. we've been doing it for thousands of years. we know what we're doing, and we do the best we can. bonnie: i think that's what's really special in our relationship is that you know what w

this is going to aim most of its moisture over the pacific northwest. so our rain chances are going to remain, well, zero, basically for the next several days. we do have the outside chance of a shower we have been talking about over the weekend. yesterday we were seeing a 10% to 20% chance for sunday and sunday night. that has been cut in half. it is through a 5% to 10% chance. so let's talk about the gusty winds. the winds are noticeable out there right now. they're going to relax somewhat, but still a noticeable breeze to start the day on wednesday. the winds are really going to pick up as we head towards lunchtime. 25 to 35 miles per hour gusts. the stronger gusts. it will be an on shore wind. 30 to 40-mile-per-hour gusts along the coast. 15 to 25-mile-per-hour gusts farther inland. it is enough to move you around on the road, but not enough that we're under a wind advisory. let's take a look outside right now. as we look out from the hotel. it hasn't moved a lot, but it is going to spread into the inland valley. current temperature mostly in the mi

let's the moisture plume aimed for the pacific northwest. getting the tail end of this in the form of clouds ahead of that system. temperatures right now in the 50's to the 70's. gilroy today, vacaville in the upper 70's. clearly the fog had an impact on coastal areas. you can see it in emeryville. the temperatures you will see in a moment, really nice-looking day today. morning fog and high clouds, cooler in the afternoon. chili with periods of rain thursday. blustery friday. not terribly cold. tomorrow morning with the cloud cover, fog. temperatures in the 40's. it is going to be nice, not as warm as today. low to mid 70's inland. low 60's coast side. a level 1 storm for thursday into friday. waves of rain, slight chance for hail, breezy and colder conditions expected. that system goes into the pacific northwest, the back end comes into our area but it is going to be slow-moving. it is not going to rain everywhere right away. 6:00, well to our north. 10:00, north bay seeing showers thursday. 4:00, coastal areas and the east getting wet wea

you see that rain confined mainly up in the pacific northwest. ensure. that starts to drop down, though. and we start to get back into some rain here and the next couple of days. so here's the latest forecast model you see right here as we head through time. as we look toward tomorrow, some of those clouds begin to move in most that some mid to high level cloud cover. i think going to make for a beautiful sunset by tomorrow night. and then as we get into late wednesday, that's when we expect the storm system begin to move in probably wednesday night and into early on thursday morning. so if you sleep in late on thursday, you may actually miss most of this. this may be all done by about 09:00am on thursday morning. kind of scoots out of town. after that. behind that, we start to dry out just a little bit again so far as rainfall totals are concerned, not a huge storm, but this will be the most significant rain event since we seen anything since early in january. how about quarter of an inch in some parts of the bay area's think some of the mountain tops t

unfortunately not going to bring us any rain that will bring some showers up in the pacific northwestbut going to fall apart before it gets here. so it's going to ramp up that marine layer may be seeing some drizzle out along the coastline early tomorrow morning. and the winds are going to little blustery by tomorrow afternoon. i think we're looking some gusts of 30 plus miles an hour along the coast models picking up on some of the patchy fog overnight tonight along the coastline filling into the bay and even the patch or 2 of drizzle. and so that's we wake up tomorrow morning by the afternoon. we're going to see the clouds begin to dissipate a little bit and some mid to high level clouds begin to move on through by tomorrow afternoon. fortunately, still staying dry temperatures tomorrow. it will be a mild inland, probably some upper 60's, almost 70 degrees in places like concord in antioch and in the santa rosa inside the bay. you'll feel the winds in hayward in the afternoon will be a little bit breezy there. 64 degrees in san jose cool 50's along the coastline and the next few day

here's a look at tomorrow where we do have the pacific northwest and again farther east.t rainfall for us. it looks like maybe a little bit of drizzle. few sprinkles few 107 inch, perhaps for the north bay for the central based south bay. looks like you're going to remain try. and from the future cast model. it was tough to tell . but it looks like right between 9 10 o'clock for the north bay, and then it begins to shift into the overnight hours tomorrow morning. partly cloudy skies and there were dry on sunday. sunday is going to be an even cooler that day than today. and notable drop coming our way for today and even cooler for tomorrow. monday night into tuesday, another system moving in pacific northwest northern california, this one looks like it's going to actually get farther south. and hopefully bring us a little bit more rain and more sierra snow, so we'll be watching for that. but for your weekend again a few 100, maybe enough to water the grass dirty the car. when it comes to tahoe. we've got 45 degrees at blue canyon. we've got twenties over areas of tahoe as

a powerful storm, fueled by an atmospheric river slammed the pacific northwest today. heavy downpour hit the seattle area, flooding roads and breaking daily rainfall records. a flood watch is in effect through wednesday. this storm system has also led to heavy snowfall in upper elevations and triggered avalanche concerns. work crews were out on the roads, implementing avalanche control measures. atmospheric river storms are fueled by long and wide plumes of moisture pulled in from the pacific. and i want to share with you what it exactly looks like according to our computer models, the atmospheric river is just pounding the pacific northwest. you can take a look at this particular view and you can see the yellows, the greens, the blues and all that will continue to fuel and to washington and oregon. then my thursday narrow ribbon precipitation. is now laying over the bay area. in fact, we could see rain beginning as early as wednesday evening in the north bay. precipitation on thursday may be hit and miss scattered rain shower into saturday, but nonetheless, computer m

will maybe see some showers up in the pacific northwest. but as it comes our way, helps to reinforce the marine layer a little bit overnight tonight and tomorrow and probably kicks up the winds by tomorrow afternoon. i think that will be the big weather story headed toward a lot of part of the day tomorrow. so we're already seeing that on shore breeze. now, low clouds and fog have moved inside the bay bumping up against the east bay hills and will continue their march further on shore. as we head through the night tonight and tomorrow morning, likely going to see some drizzle out there to early tomorrow morning and yeah, a little wet out toward the coastline early but by the middle of the day, i think a lot of that begins to break up in spots. we're going to see some mid to high level clouds continue to move across the sky. as we head throughout the day, part of the remnants of that dying cold front, no rain from that system for us. we'll keep the winds in the forecast and keep those temperatures cooler out toward the coastline plan on high

you see that cold front beginning to make its way in the pacific northwest. that is going to head almost due south. but as it comes through a start to fall apart already leave behind some high clouds, but then high pressure tries to build in behind that frontal system. and that's what's going to give us some pretty gusty winds along the coastline. we'll call breezy overall. but a fairly gusty along the immediate coast with some 20 of some 30 mile an hour gusts temperature wise numbers are going to back off a bit by tomorrow afternoon. instead of the 70's for the most the bay area. you can talk about some 60's, maybe some low 70's well inland in the north bay by tomorrow afternoon. but there's a hint that we could see a change in the forecast as we get into friday and saturday with some warmer weather and then maybe a couple raindrops start to factor into the weather late on sunday into monday and tuesday of next week. all right. let's hope for that rain. thank you, lawrence. other big story tonight. our coverage of governor newsome, state of the state address

low pressure that is off of the pacific northwest will finally trail the cold front across the bay area that is worth the bite of cold air that will bring our way. this time, monday night, tuesday morning, we will probably get 1/10th of an inch to a couple 10th of an inch of rain. i know, not a huge amount but my dad would say better than a jab in the eye with a stick. with that eye you can see visibilities for 10 miles right now. high clouds are over northern california. by 4:00 tomorrow in the afternoon it will look much like it did this afternoon at 4:00. goss of high clouds over the bay area. there is monday at 4:00. now watch what happens clouds thicken up. clouds and rain move into sonoma county and marin county and then it looks like a mattress exploded over northern california. just numerous showers moving in on tuesday morning, still, just 2/100th of an inch of rain. then we will be left with high clouds by the time we get to tuesday night at 6:00. another shot of showers monday night, north bay. rest of the bay area on tuesday morning, not a lot. but, certainly more than we ha

it's going to continue to move into the pacific northwest and approach the bay area going into earlyg. i'm stopping it right where we start to see the rain moving in for much of the bay area, at about 8:30 tomorrow morning. so if you do have some outdoor plans, i know little league is getting going with opening day this weekend, and unfortunately it's going to be a soggy one. so everyone needs to be bundled up. not only will it be raining throughout the day, but it will be cool and windy and winds really pick up in the evening as the rain starts to move off tword the east. as far as how much rain we're going to see, it's possible for about a tenth of an inch for the north bay, but may be higher for the east bay and south bay with a quarter to a half inch of rain. when we talk about how much this rain is needed, remember the start of the rainy season where sierra snow was at 160% of normal and we had so much rain, the strongest storm since 2017, and we saw the percent of average for our rainfall at up to 160%. now we've experienced a record dry and we are going to continue to unfortun
