we are live in pacifica.he surf is rolling in, the tide is coming in so the whale is under water right now. but it is bleeding from its head and so there is a good bit of blood right now in the water. we have some footage taken at sunset last night that shows this whale rolling around in the surf. it looks to be an adult sperm whale about 60 feet long and that's pretty much as big as they get. it's not clear when it washed ashore. we did get fairly close to it. no smell just yet but it has been cool and as roberta mentioned we are getting some warmer weather coming soon here. so later today scientists from the marine mammal center and the academy of sciences will perform a necropsy. adults sperm what else can get up to 50 tons. it can be interesting to see what happens whether they leave it out there or tow it out to sea. live in pacifica, kiet do, kpix 5. >>> public unrest over recent police shootings brought protestors out in droves around the bay area yesterday. that police station in downtown oakland was

back here in pacifica we had a high of 61 degrees. palo alto definitely the warm spot but woodside the chillier location today. as we go over our forecast for tomorrow we're expecting a mild day for the interior valleys. north bay 66 degrees. we're going to undergo some big-time changes this week and if you did not see us in the 5:00 hour what's looking more and more likely is the possibility of rainfall by this weekend. now, so far this week the storms have been close but nothing yet. you can see one near the four corners and one in southern california. by the end of the week on friday we're going to see this trough of low pressure beginning to get closer. every major forecast model right now now has introduced the chance of rainfall as we head into saturday's forecast. it looks pretty decent for all of the bay area to get at least something. and about 25 minutes we'll have details on the exact timing of this and how much rainfall we could pick up this weekend. again, in that full forecast you guys. >> okay. thank you, jeff. up next
