earlier today i noted those right off the rockaway and also sharp point beach in pacifica earlier, as well as central and also southern portions of ocean beach. and so those waves tomorrow will be slightly smaller than today's. but that high surf advisory remains in effect until 9:00 tonight. with the bottom line is know your limitations. it's rough out there. and we also have that small craft advisory in place now on shore we go where the temperatures today were up to about five degrees cooler than where we should be. plus it was windy today. some of those winds were clocked up to about 30 and 35mph as far as the gusts are concerned. now, currently we have cooled to the 40s and 50s. we will bottom out tonight, overnight into the 30s and 40s with the skies gradually clearing. now look at those current wind speeds right now 25mph along the sea shore. and that is current data. 14 in mountain view and 20 mile per hour winds at mineta international airport. these winds tomorrow will be out of the northwest. pretty breezy again, 10 to 20mph. and the reason is that right there, that area of

live in pacifica. lena howland abc seven news lena. >> thank you. new details on the shooting of an officer at a hillsboro police station. police are revealing new sketches of the suspect over the weekend. this is the image that police shared right here. the description is pretty vague. they say the suspect is a man between 25 to 27 years old. he's about five foot 5 to 5 foot seven, with a slim build and a pale complexion. the shooting happened on saturday, february 22nd, just before 4 p.m. in the back parking lot of the police department, specifically in the area of west santa ynez avenue to hillside drive. this is near west of el camino real. police say that the gunman shot the officer in the area protected by body armor. the officer attempted to fire back, but the suspect got away. the officer is expected to make a full recovery. >> in san francisco, investigators say a scooter's lithium battery is to blame for sparking a fire inside a chinatown hotel. this started yesterday morning at the balmoral hotel on clay street. the fire department says t

it is still extremely windy out here at the pacifica pier right now.his is one of several bay area locations that was battered by waves over the weekend. now we can still hear those waves crashing into the seawall here behind us. even though the national weather service has canceled the high surf advisory. now, further up north on the sonoma county coast, the sheriff's department says the body of a man who was swept into the ocean over the weekend has been recovered at gerstle cove campground, near fort ross sunday morning. officials say the man was standing on rocks near the shore when he got swept into the ocean by a crashing wave at ocean beach in san francisco. one fire captain is now warning folks to beware of dangerous surf and rogue waves. >> inexperienced swimmers, inexperienced surfers need to be very aware of these conditions, and it is our recommendation to stay out of the water at this time and come back on a day when it's a little more calm. >> capitola closed its beach and wharf saturday for several hours because of the high surf. police

unseasonably cool anywhere from 54 degrees on shore in pacifica to 62 degrees in fairfield. it was in the high 50s in san jose when typically you should be right around 64 degrees. temperatures averaging a good five degrees below normal. and right now we're beginning to cool down into the 40s and also the low 50s across the area. we do have the winds now that's adding to the evening chill. it is gusty out there around that san bruno gap. we have a 13 mile per hour wind at mineta international airport. check out all these wind speeds are over ten miles per hour, generally hovering right around 15mph. same again tomorrow. all due to this system that is pretty much out of the area. but notice all that cotton ball effect out over the open waters. that is an indication there's a lot of instability in the atmosphere. which leads me to believe we've got to check in with your monday forecast and see how all this will be affected. and that's coming up in just a couple of minutes. >> all right. thank you. roberta. well, police in hayward are investigating a shooting that left four peo

temperatures out the door, though, getting chilly. 49 now pacifica. it's 51 in san francisco. 43 in sonoma. 47 in santa rosa 49 degrees in petaluma. but this week system going to be coming on shore as we head through the night tonight and kind of see that ridge out ahead of it. you kind of see the bending of the air currents here and they can just sense that ridge out ahead. so really not a strong system coming over the top of that ridge. but enough to get things a little bit wet and keep those cool temperatures. all that cold air coming in from the gulf of alaska once again overnight tonight likely see some of those pop-up showers by early tomorrow morning. not going to be much just a light stuff out there, kind of scattered about the day and nothing ruin your day be prepared to will be cool again, all around and a brisk wind but long range forecast looks a lot more ominous. here comes front. it looks pretty good right here. just kind of falls apart as it gets closer. the coastline running into the top of that ridge. that one moves on by behind that.
