news4's tracee wilkins is live at palmer park now with the latest on this.ring us up to speed. >> reporter: 9-year-old gilbert garcia was found in nevada of all places. he was evidently there with his mother. they were found inside an airport. let me show you the video and pictures that were released yesterday by the prince george's county police department and also the school system has been working closely with the police there. this amber alert was issued around 8:30 last night. and they were asking people to keep an eye out for 9-year-old guilbert garcia. police released security camera video from dodge park elementary school here in landover where he was picked up by his mom yesterday around 8:00 a.m. that was the last time that he was seen. evidently his dad had sole custody, and his mother did not have the right to pick her son up. i spoke with prince george's coun county's school spokesman. he told me he does not believe the school was aware of the fact that the mom was not supposed to pick up the son. he says that she told them he had a doctor's app

. >> it happened along the 1100 block of palmer road. john gonzalez is live with more. >> it is an alarming way for residents to get things started today. prince george's county police started getting calls around 1:00 this morning with reports of gunshots in the parking lot of these apartments. when police responded they found a man inside his car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and the car had caught on fire. the police officers pulled the man out of the burning car and they tried to extinguish the fire but the fire department had to come out and put it out. it is early in the investigation. police are calling this a homicide but they do not believe that the car was set on fire deliberately. it appears that after the man was shot, a running car rolled back and jumped the curb and ended up in a grassy area. >> it appears the fire started as a result of dry leaves. it does not appear to be arson. it is early in the investigation. >> is suspect is still lose this morning. there are a lot of questions and police are investigating wh
