>> not a lot, pam. i mean, is there are always some areas that get son, but unless you are down near santa cruz county, there is a big fog bank out there. and it does peel back to the coast, but temperatures are mainly in the 60s, for just about everyone. including the city. remaining in the 60s as well. more on that in just a second. the satellite image shows you that while we do have a pretty good fog bank out there. it has been a couple of weeks. carrying into july, almost all of july. warm to hot inland though, still 90s for many. it could be a lot worse. remember, earlier in the month, one or two, 103, 104 on these times. it has been about 80 to 90 for most of these locations. concorde though, 89, redwood city 75 to 80. that is not bad. the city can't get over the average of 67 this week. 64, 62, 62, 63. today,a high of 65. santa rosa north wind. upper 70s low 80s if they get it. forecast, high of 86 if they don't. they will stay about 81, 82. still gusting at travis, unsure breezes there, on week,

i will give you all the details on that, pam. so let's start off where we are this morning, which is to say, we are foggy out there along the coast, and certainly you are feeling that if you are out at the coast right now. visibility is not too bad, but we are seeing some of it pop up like in santa rosa, keeping you cool in the north bay also. 86 in berkeley, 54 at san francisco, 56 in san jose. today we are looking out for pleasant, seasonal temperatures, should be lovely once we get the fark out of there. then as we head toward the holiday weekend we will see temperatures pick back up. we have been on a seesaw of temperatures, and we will continue the pattern. so today, again, really nice other, 66 in san francisco, beautiful around the bay, hayward, 75, fremont,. we will see that at concorde and livermore, it will be mid- 80s, and antioch, 88 degrees today. all of this cooler weather is courtesy of a low pressure system, but ultimately that will get bumped out of the way, and we will see the same pattern, where we see high- pr

all right pam, i will pick up from here.anta clara county officials launched the nation's first universal basic income program for foster youth. it is for young adults no longer eligible for assistance when they turn the age of 24 and they transition out of the extended foster care. it is a pilot program that gives 72 transitioning foster youth $1000 each month for a year. the total cost? $900,000 from the county's general fund. >> that early boost of a $1000 stipend a month, basically a gets parlayed into a much better future for them. they stay out of our system and it will save the county millions of dollars in the long run. >> unlike food stamps, there are no requirements on how to spend that money. if this pilot program works, the board may consider expanding it to other special- needs groups. >> think what we could do for our families. think what we could do for mental health response for youth. >> families and martin is demanding a juvenile detention center shutdown and support another site to stay open. and more foll

you, pam and dave. we have a decent fog bank, barely hanging out of her by the coast. a little bit has moved inland. there are warm temperatures if you are away from the coast, so, it will be cooler today by the coast. hot inland. a bigger fog bank, yesterday, today, 52 and the city. that is two degrees below average for the average low, this time of year, i am going a little bit cooler for a few of you. oakland and vallejo, down a few. inland temperatures will have no problem getting into the mid- 90s to upper 90s for many. this is just for those that are anywhere near the bay. it is already 60 degrees in concord. brentwood is 68. walnut creek is 68. by the coast, it is cooler. inland temperatures will be well above average for this time of year. it translates from 60s to 90s. there will be a hot one and the weekend. over to sal, anything new that you want to update us on? >> we are looking at some of the commutes, we do not see a lie. the bay bridge looks pretty good. we are showing you this picture.

. >> reporter: good morning, pam. stonestown galleria and westfield san francisco center opened last month after shutting down in march. and now they are closed once again. that's because san francisco is now on california's coronavirus watch list. and an increase in hospitalizations put the city in the spot. so now they have to follow state restrictions which says indoor malls and nonessential offices have to shut down or limit indoor operations. mall stores with outside entrans and offices doing minimum basic operations can stay opened. restaurant can only serve people outdoors and for take out. mayor breed says to expect the tightened restrictions to be around until the spread of the virus slows down. and if it gets worse, they will take the shut downs further. city officials say many cases of coronavirus can be blamed on family and friends getting together in groups. so they ask you limit gatherings and wear a mask. we spoke to a man in san francisco who has advice for others. >> social distance and try to stay aw

. >>> good morning i'm pam cook. it is wednesday, july 1st. i want to talk about the weather as we head into our holiday weekend. let's check in with steve. good morning. >> good morning pam and david we have a bigger fog bank and the trend is to cool down after a quick warm-up yesterday, there might be another one on saturday but that is four days away. until then, low pressure is going to settle in on the west coast and we are seeing fog moving up the coast. it is not widespread but there is much more of a presence this morning that we had yesterday. it will continue to work its way up. it is not really deeper anything but has made it over parts of san pablo bay. everyone is very close here. santa rosa 53, so look for cooler for most, might take another day for you well inland. cool to very warm, 90s is hot for some but along embarcadero west f-15. that's pretty good. low clouds making a bigger push there. some locations are beginning a little cooler. napa is +4 because the it is overcast. today and friday, bigger fog bank, cool and breezy.

everything is pointing in that direction, pam and dave.his week i'm sure somewhere down the road here as we transition from july to august, we get back into hotter temperatures. this looks cooler for all. even over the next couple of days, clear lake and lake port, there's a massive fog bank out there. cooler forecast now again, there could be subtle changes but low clouds and hazy sun. there's a little bit of smoke in the air north to south. but a deep fog bank and it is a solid marine layer equalling cooler air and drizzle tuesday night and wednesday morning and wednesday night and thursday. a little low is coming in and i'll tell you, if it was any other time of the year, probably wouldn't do much but this time of the year it can ramp up fog bank and temperatures. morgan hill and concord, when travis has a sweft of 40 gusting to 46 which they had last hour. that is a screening message. oakland west at 12. concord southwest napa airport, up in the hills a good west and southwest wind as well. 50s and a few 60s. these probably won't chang
