pam bondi, great to have you with us.mine as well. clearly, states across the country are stepping up saying we have got to fight this. this is probably the largest lawsuit we have seen taking on opioids. >> it is and it's long overdue. many large states, california and new york have yet to file. 16 smaller ones filed. five of us filed simultaneously yesterday including texas. abby, you're right. this just had to be done. you know, these opioid manufacturers and distributers are not taking responsibility. we have been part of a multi-state working group. we led it. we will continue to do it. we will continue negotiations, but they have got to be held accountable. these manufacturers were using front groups. they were making publications claiming that it was by a nonprofit targeting elderly and our veterans. that's completely unacceptable. abby, here in florida we have 15 floridians dying a day, a day, 175 each day in our country. we have got to go after them where it hurts financially. abby: i have a family member i lost

the read now from florida's attorney general, pam bondi. what are your thoughts on this?utside of guatemala and paraguay, there wasn't a congo line of countries following suit here? >> it shows that we're the strongest country in the world, neil. our president does what he says he's going to do. i think it's a strong not only show of strength but also unity. israel was our greatest ally in the world. i'm so proud of what happened today. i've been to israel twice as attorney general. jerusalem is the capitol of israel. >> neil: as you know with these palestinian protests, the fears are that it's agitate ago lot of the violence. one of the concerns is that the palestinians look forward to a homeland of their own. the key to that would be making jerusalem its capitol. that doesn't seem likely now. what is your sense? >> the u.s. was in the final stages of finalizing our peace plan with israel and palestine and jared kushner. he's an amazing person. he's a great negotiator as well as the president of the united states. i feel that -- i think this shows strength. it says that

there's also the question of whether or not some donations that went to pam bondi, who's the attorneyeneral of florida, was related to the fact that florida was starting to look into trump university as well. if donald trump is solving his trump university problems potentially that way with one d.a. and potentially has kompromat basically on his local hometown d.a., it does beg the question what did he do with it, did he use, it is there something illegal about -- i don't know. it is just a strange case. >> it's very strange. one of the other people schneiderman is going after is trump's own son. so he's got real beef, trump does, against schneiderman. if he's got this really damaging evidence, why wouldn't he use it? the only thing that makes this juicy, it is kind of like a page turner, is how did trump know to lump schneiderman with weiner and spitzer? he does that in 2013. until recently nobody suspected this about them. but weiner, spitzer, their sexual improprieties. trump lumps schneiderman in there. how did he know? so that provides, i don't know if you'd say credibility to gl

we've got open seats in florida because pam bondy is term limited. we have michigan. we have colorado that's going to be an open seat. we have nevada. we have ohio, where mike de wine is running for governor. we have great candidates in all these seat, but that's predominantly our focus, making sure we maintain a majority of republican attorneys general. right now we have 28 republican a.g.s across the country. it makes a difference when we're looking at briefs, for example, or signing on to lawsuits. that's where the big shift comes in because as mike made a joke earlier about safety in numbers being in a room full of our counselors, well, there's something to be said when you have 20 states sign on to a lawsuit, a new lawsuit against the affordable care act or you have 26 states having sued the environmental protection agency. that's why it's important to have colleagues like minded across the country that care about defending the rule of law. that's, i think, the difference in what we're seeing in the democratic attorneys general and the republican attorneys genera
