. >>> one of giffords staffers who was also injured was pam simon. she was hit by two bullets but is expected to make a full recovery. pam's son, fritz simon, is joining us now to tell us how his mother is doing. thank you very much. you, your father and sister have been there by your mother's side. can you tell us about the injuries she sustained? and how is she doing this morning? >> she's doing much better. we're happy she's recovering so well. but i do need to acknowledge, we feel very fortunate. you know, a lot of people were hurt on saturday. and a lot of lives destroyed. so we feel very lucky. as far as her injuries, i mean, she took two gunshots. and somehow, miraculously, is coming out of this almost fully recovered. >> we're happy to hear that. has she been able to talk to you about -- or has she wanted to talk to you about what all happened? did she see the shooter? >> i believe she did. i mean, this is probably a little more for her story to tell when she's ready. but she did say that she did see the shooter. and -- but obviously, the even
