nbc10's pamela osborne is live at the scene with a wreck. pam, give us an update. >> reporter: keep in mind, vai, all of this happened at 7:15 last night. it started when officers on patrol overheard a gun battle. when they got to the area of where those shots were fired. 48th and westminster, they saw a man quickly get inside of a nissan. when you're looking at right now is exclusive video of the moment police caught up with one of their suspects. this is the intersection of 52nd and locust. you'll notice smoke in the corner of the screen there. you'll see a man appear from that smoke. he takes off his jacket and is immediately apprehended by police. this is where that smoke was coming from. police say the driver of that nissan caused this four-car wreck as he tried to get away from police. the driver ran a redlight and crashed into a woman who was driving eastbound on locust. she died a short time later of her injuries at the hospital. plus recovered surveillance video that shows the gun battle that led up to the chase. two people from the

pame pamela osborne is talking about that and the recount already going on in pennsylvania. >> a partial recount will begin today in philadelphia. at 1:00 this afternoon the recount and voting results from 75 machines across 1700 wards in philly will take place at the voting machine warehouse along wissahickon avenue. so, why these particular wards? well, voters in each of these wards actually question -- petitioned for the recount. this, as you know, is an effort from green party candidate jill stein. she pushed the recounts in michigan and wisconsin as well. we know the president-elect donald trump has been against the recount efforts. his attorneys have filed paperwork in an effort to stop the recount in michigan. that recount was supposed to start today. wisconsin's recount is already under way. and here in pa, trump defeated hillary clinton by 68,000 votes. clinton, however, tweeted trump by a margin of 655,000 votes in philadelphia. a court hearing on the statewide recount is set for monday. in the digital operation center, i'm pamela osborne, "nbc10 news." >>> we have more details

nbc 10's pamela osborne is live at the county courthouse in norristown to explain what's going to happen today. pamela? >> reporter: yeah, a judge is going to be weighing the potential testimony here, and it will ultimately be up to the judge to decide whether or not past accusers will get to face cosby in court. there are 13 women prosecutors are trying to establish that cosby has a pattern of drugging and molesting women. cosby has been indicted on allegations of a sex crime against andrea constand. this was back in 2004. the prosecution will urge the judge to allow 13 other accusers to testify. they say their accounts back up con stand's story line, which is that cosby used a friendly approach and used drugs to incapacitate victims for sexual advances and abuse. cosby's lawyers, however, will argue that allowing this testimony would taint the case and prejudice the jury. the defense has already questioned the motivation of the accusers and will go after their credibility. that hearing is expected to begin at 9:00 a.m. this morning. reporting live in norristown, i'm pamela osborne, nbc

pamela osborne is live. what can you tell us?>> reporter: it was just around 3:00 this morning that trooper williams's body was removed from the hospital. it was a silent show of respect. fellow officers saluted as frankie williams was taken away from cooper university hospital. he was responding to a call last night when he was involved in a fatal crash. he was traveling about 7:00 when a man traveling southbound in a toyota corolla crossed the median, entered the northbound lanes and truck troop t trooper. trooper williams was flown to cooper university hospital where he died. williams was 31. it was just last january he graduated and became a state trooper. the cause of the crash remains under investigation. tweeting out our hearts and prayers go out to the new jersey state police on their loss. he asked all of us to keep that family and friends in our thoughts today. nbc 10 news. >> thank you. >>> 6:06 right now. talking about a rise in heroin deaths. they tell us they have had ten overdoses, four of them fatal. they say the

. >> let's check back in with pamela osborn out there driving around on the roads. pam, tell us where you are? >> reporter: good morning. in allentown on north 15th street. we wanted to give you a look at the roads. conditions have changed out here right now. the roads have ice on them as well as slush. we are giving you a look at some of the side streets. i can tell you there was this accumulation of ice we could see getting off the exit ramp of 78 this morning as well wechlt saw a penndot truck out doing some work. it had the scraper down in the front, dropping ice on the back end. as we've been saying all morning long, krystal has been talking about the temperatures bouncing back and forth between the freezing. xw what you are looking at. over on the sides here, the trees and shrubs are covered in a layer of ice as well. be very careful when you are headed out the door. here, you have to assume that what is wet on the grounld d is actually frozen in this particular area. i am going to send things back to you and keep driving around, a look at conditions on the ot

nbc 10's pamela osborne is live for us in norristown. pam, what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, that's going to be the issue that the judge will be weighing here this morning. ultimately, he will decide if some of those other accusers will have the chance to face cosby in court. there are 13 women prosecutors are trying to establish that cosby has a pattern of drugging and molesting women. cosby has been indicted on allegations of a sex crime against andrea constand back in 2004. the prosecution will urge the judge to allow 13 other accuses to testify. they say their accounts will back up constand's story line, which is that he used drugs to incapacitate victims for sexual advances and abuse. cosby's lawyer, however, will argue that allow this testimony would taint the case and prejudice the jury. the defense has already questioned the motivation of these accusers and will go after their credibility in court. as we come back out here live this morning, you can see some of the setup is taking place or has taken place that we see when cosby comes into court. the

i'm pamela osborne. >> and ima katy zachry. it is 5:30 on the dot after a long holiday weekend.'s start with meteorologist krystal klei. >> was it long for new. >> it was a very nice weekend. yeah, it was kind of long because we didn't have that morning show yesterday so i can't complain. here's a look at your temperatures outside. we certainly had a cooldown. yesterday temperatures got up very nicely into the 40s around 50 in some spots. philadelphia officially hit 50 which was our forecast temperature. already though we've dropped right back down. 20s over some areas. 28 reading, pottstown, 26 allento allentown. 36 in philadelphia, northeast philly 35. look at dover, up to 38 degrees this morning. notice, we've got the warmer air pressing in from the south. the temperatures are boosting up in those locations. looking at radar and satellite, this is a wider view here. it shows that we've got the clouds but there's just very light rain falling farther to the west. this is way ahead of the system. it's actually more located near the great lakes. that's going to bring us rain chan
