pamela osborne is live for us in fairmount park with the details.see that already well under way. >> yeah, you caught me checking thises out. the first athlete finished one mile of the run in less than five minutes take a look at what's happening now. there was a staggered start. you can see a rush of triathletes have made it here to the next stop. they're picking up their bikes for the 40k portion, which is moving fast. that was a very start of the race started with the men's pro, followed by the women's pro, followed by the individual age groups. we have been talking about the change to the format because of yesterday's rain. this is a dry tri. athletes are still getting in the 50k distance, more than 2500 athletes are participating, including canute. he competed in the rio olympics. he's probably on his bike somewhere. he said he was looking forward to the swim portion, but he says he was still really looking forward to this race. >> i'm coming from the west coast, so i was sleeping when the heavy rain came. i woke up to it, but yeah, i mean, i h

nbc 10's pamela osborne is live at southwest detectives with some new information. pam? >> reporter: rosemary, the councilman was able to identify the suspect of a photo lineup. since then, the search has been on for this man, 24-year-old sean warburry. there is a warrant out for his arrest and he is now considered a fugitive. overnight, detectives searched his last-known addresses, but they were unable to find yardburry. police say he tried to rob councilman david oh as he returned home on wednesday in the kingsessing neighborhood. >> he has been a lifelong resident of this area. we believe at this point he may be homeless or living from house to house. we're asking him to turn himself in or family members to convince him to come here and turn himself in. but it's an all-out effort at this point to locate this gentleman and get him off the streets. >> councilman oh underwent surgery, it was a success and yesterday he returned to work. and we're learning much more about the attack itself. when i come back in 30 minutes, we'll hear that part of the story. reporting live a

pamela osborne joins us live. lay out what's expected to happen today. >> reporter: this all came about yesterday when that accuser, a witness for the prosecution testified that although she waited nearly two decades to go public with her encounter she told her mother about the assault after it happened. this is why there is that question of whether that mother should be allowed to testify in court. it's a decision we are expecting the judge to rule on some time this morning. >> that was bill cosby on his way in. mr. cosby's lawyers argue he is innocent. they went after the credibility of that witness who they say was not fired from her job as cosby's agency as she testified but lost her job after filing workman's comp claims. they pushed her on why she waited and never reported this incident to her boss at cosby's company. that is what she broke down in front of that jury. she said she was embarrassed. at the time she thought she was the only one going up against the biggest celebrity in the world at that time. i

pamela osborne joins us live from police headquarters with the breaking details. pam, tell us how this happened. >> reporter: that woman and her boyfriend were asleep in an upstairs bedroom when they heard someone breaking into their house in the 3,000 block of north front street. this was just before 3:00 this morning. the victim, a 25-year-old woman, got up to check it out first. her 21-year-old boyfriend was standing behind her. as soon as she opened the door, they encountered the suspects. during the confrontation, she was shot in the leg. the victim who was three months pregnant is in stable condition at temple hospital now. also inside the house, the woman's 3-year-old and 6-year-old children. the children were not hurt. police believe there were two, possibly three men involved in this home invasion. they were wearing masks and dark clothing. it's not clear what if anything was taken from the home. at this point police are hoping nearby surveillance video will help them identify their suspects. reporting live outside of police headquarters, i'm pamela osbor

. >> pamela osborne is live for us in center city. >> reporter: it all depends. experts we spoke to say at best it could take a day. but that jury selection process could stretch into tomorrow as well. that was seth williams on his way into court this morning. he was greeting cameras awaiting his arrival. his attorney adding they were feeling good going into the federal corruption trial. seth williams is facing 29 counts relighting to bribery and corruption. prosecutors say he took trips and gifts in exchange for favors. let's talk about the jury. more than 100 potential jurors are part of the panel. they will be asked what they may know or have heard about the case prior to today. they come from all over north hampton, bucks and beshrks coun to name a few. another thing is their ability to serve. this trial is expected to go on four four weeks. one of the things they will attempt to weed out are jurors that can't commit to being a part of this four-week long process. they say that it could cause any hardship. that's another thing that they're going to check for

nbc 10 pamela osborne live at the scene. tell us what happened. >> reporter: well, this whole thing started as a carjacking. two bike cops actually recognized a stolen vehicle. they stopped the car at the intersection of i street ander right knee aven -- and erie avenue. one of the ufrss broke his wrist. as all of this was happening a black nissan with tinted windows drove through the crime scene. the officers felt the driver was intentionally trying to maul them down. it's also a possibility the driver was just driving recklessly. >> traveling at a speed of approximately 60 miles per hour. this male broke through the crime scene. narrowly missing the police officers as they jumped out of the way. >> the black nissan possibly an altima with tinted windows was traveling so fast officers couldn't get a plate number on that vehicle. they're working right now to track down surveillance camera video in hopes of getting a license plate number and identifying the owner of that vehicle. reporting live in kinsington, pamela osborne,

pamela osborne is live outside a.i.ont hospital for children where the boy is in critical condition. pam? >> reporter: as you said, that 6-year-old boy wasn't the intended target of the shooting, but he was shot in the head. his 31-year-old mother was shot in the arm. and at last check, she was in stable condition at another hospital. the mother and son were at a park at 6th and spruce when someone opened fire. officers on patrol heard the gunshots. they responded right away and found the two had been hit. they started treating them until paramedics arrived on the scene and transported them to the hospital. this all happened in broad daylight near a school, a church. we talked to a community activist who is urging people with information to come forwards. >> i think it's a travesty. you know, i went to school up the street there. and we never had this kind of problem when i was young. these are mistakes that you can't walk away from. you can't say i'm sorry and it's over. you know, somebody has to be held responsible fo
