i am feeling the winds and they are coming in 45-mile-per-hour steady with the heaviest gusts. you can see the waves come crashing in here at the inlet jetty. as we pan around we can't look into the wind but as we pan around to the side here i want to show you the waves crashing over the jetty out here. this is an impressive sight indeed. pounding torrential rains in addition to these heavy, heavy winds. we had started to see flooding on some of the low lying streets in ocean city where it is not all that uncommon to see the flooding. now they have closed gates, the storm gates on the boardwalk. i'm going to show you why. it has to do with sand erosion. i picked up a handful of sand. watch this stuff just blow horizontally out of my hand. down at the beach level there nothing but sand blowing along the edge. look, this is a pretty nasty storm. right now no evacuations. certainly nobody is out on the beach. nobody should be going in the water at this point. they are expecting minor flooding. this is not really enough wind to damage the town. really more of a nuisance and again that spectacle of nature. so we'll be back at 5:00. at 5:00, we will show y
