today and could be a category one hurricane as it makes land fall along the gulf coast just east of panama city as we head into late tonight. it's going to happen while many of us are asleep am category one hurricane over georgia and then it looks like it will weaken into the last update had this track going right over central north carolina. now look at this. it could go offshore again. it looks like right around the wilmington area. it could get some heavy rain. friday night into saturday morning. then quickly saturday afternoon. this storm exits our area. it's going to weaken. right off the coast. right off the coast peninsula. that's where it will stay as we head into early next week. there are some watches and warnings i want to make sure you're aware of. there's a flash flood watch and it includes all of the area shaded in green around south carolina and a few counties in north carolina. it does include our immediate viewing area. and then also new this morning just now with the latest release, tropical storm warnings and tropical storm watches in effect for the wilmington under that trop

forecast has it a category one hurricane this evening with 75 miles per hour winds just off the panama city coastline, coming onshore and through friday morning, notice, it's still along the i-10 corridor. so we could still see rain on friday before it finally heads into the atlantic. the center of the storm and they found a flight level wind speed of 75 miles per hour meaning the system is strengthening. we could get that update very soon. you see the yellow shade area. this is the potential of where the tropical storm-force winds could be. notice this afternoon, they're still well offshore. but with an onshore south to southwesterly wind the water is going to pile up on the coast in the bay so any rain that falls doesn't have anywhere an issue. and tonight, we could get tropical storm-force winds in places like citrus and hernando county, closer to the center of circulation. locally, thank goodness at least a break in the the rain now amount a flood watch continue -- rain now, a flood watch continues through friday evening. >> yeah, going back to yesterday, especially portions of pinellas
