i'm julie boorstin with breaking news on pandora.hey just reported earnings trading down about 14% after hours. i got off with the ceo joe kennedy who revealed to me interesting mobile numbers that were not included in the release. but that the company plans to announce in its upcoming earnings call. he told me pandora's mobile revenue has quadrupled from fiscal 2011 to fiscal 2012 to over $100 million. that puts pandora second only to google in terms of mobile ad revenue. that means more than 50% of its advertising revenue, or about 50% of its advertising revenue in this current quarter was from mobile. promising in terms of the growth of all these mobile devices. >> julia, thank you. pandora among the stocks making big moves in the off-hours trading session. over to you, brian. >> that is the big story. julia talking to the ceo, getting great information about maybe the positive side of the story. the problem is, the market is not seeing it after hours. it was a huge miss on earnings. and more importantly, they issued downside guid

pandora is a free online radio station. vehicle for local deal ads, none of them profitable. they can all learn a lot from sitting down with the annual report of iac interactive. match.com is iac's biggest business. it accounts for a quarter of the sales but nearly half of the profits. match was the original dating site. it was the first one. but the key here is match.com's subscription base business with 1.7 million core subscribers as of the latest quarter. with match along with the smaller niche sites for specific demographic groups like seniorpeoplemeet.com, the polar opposite of sexy, iac is something proprietary that people are willing to pay up for. in other words, they bring you in and then they get you to pay, which at the end of the day is what running any business is all about. this is how the game is played. not by giving away a commodity product and hoping eventually to lure in enough advertisers to turn a profit. by the way, last quarter match.com's revenues were up 46% year-over-year. incredible. and there is

internet radio operator pandora hit some sour notes today over worries about its growth rates.shares lost a quarter of their value after releasing a disappointing outlook for the quarter and entire year. with rising costs, investors are concerned about if the company's subscriber and advertiser growth can keep pace. all this came after reporting a bigger than feared quarterly loss. while gold prices rose a little today, a couple of gold miners continued to see selling pressure. freeport mcmoran and newmont mining fell. the indonesian government cut how much foreign investors can own of mineral and coal mines, from 80% down to less than half, 49%. it could be foreign mining companies will have to gradually sell part of their stakes. both newmont and freeport have interests in indonesian mines. we saw oil refining stocks heat up while crude oil and gasoline were higher. tesoro jumped 4% after receiving an analyst upgrade to neutral from bank of america merrill lynch, expecting shares to benefit from the price differences between crude oil and gasoline-- in other words, the profit
