move off toward the east, even seeing some tornado watches up in effect for parts of the florida panhandle, this is a very strong storm. and here is the reason why. we have a big split in those temperatures where it's in the mid 30s in new orleans. how is that for mardi gras? we'll see cold air pushing off toward the east. check out miami. they're at 85 degrees here in southern florida, while it is 3 degrees below zero right now in kansas city, and they've seen those temperatures well below zero over the past several hours. it looks like this cold is not going anywhere. we'll continue to hear those headlines with all the people in texas without power, as well as dealing with these single digit temperatures as well as some of those temperatures now in the middle of the day only in the teens. this is a huge storm system for them. for us, we're feeling the mildest weather in the country. it is 58 degrees right now in san jose. we're heading up to about 60 degrees even though we'll not see a lot of sunshine today. we'll see tha rain gradually tapering off with that weak weather system passing

let's check out the national scale and you will see it emerging in front of the panhandle of texas with more snow for oklahoma, arkansas, spreading into the mississippi river valley, the tennessee valley as well. this is going to be an active week east of the rocky mountains. with how many advisories, watches the mornings are all this red shaded areas. there are entire states that are under a winter storm warning's. the pink shade is a windshield warning. 30 to 40 degrees below zero. no thank you. around here, that is pretty nice in comparison to that. some fog in the distance but this will thicken up. they are in the low to mid 50s across the board right now, the wind is still elevated. 18 mile an hour sustained wind right now. they will calm down as we head to through the rest of tonight. not a lot down to what is normal into the 40s for most locations, just the usual cool spots. remaining above freezing, and high temperatures tomorrow almost exactly where we are supposed to be this time of year which means right around 60 degrees for high temperatures in most locations. the exception

completed a sales tax-funded project, to perfect the bike lanes leading to golden gate park through the panhandle. and this was the final component of the prop "k"-funded overall project that had begun in 2017. i wanted to recognize the transformative impact this project has on the park and for cyclists through the area. m.t.a. has constructed 10 tables and dozens of intersection upgrades all across the park that have calmed traffic and improved safety for all road users. we're continuing the conversation about how to balance that use going forward. and we wanted to celebrate this achievement at this time. finally, on the management side, prop 1b, the state bond program, completed a performance audit, and there were no findings, and it was a clean audit issue recently at our agency. i want to thank cynthia fong and her team for a job well-done. the focus was a performance review of the island ramps project, which was completed in 2016. and we're continuing to work on the interchange and are setting up our west side bridge's program, hopefully for advertising later this year. thank you very much.
