where a firefighter paramedic has now died after suffering an injury during a training exercise, the san francisco fire department says that this man, 42 year-old jason cortez was hurt around 10 o'clock this morning and then was immediately rushed to san francisco general hospital and despite doctors best efforts they were unable to save cortez and he died about an hour later just before 11 o'clock this morning and now we're taking a live picture. outside of san francisco general where there has been a huge gathering of firefighters and police officers all in his honor cortez was taken there before he died and we're waiting now for a live update from officials so we can get some more information on exactly how he died because officials are not saying how he was injured. but they are remembering him as a beloved veteran of the department. >>this very trying time as jason was well liked department. and they fought their about it. starting in 2007 working mostly it's a supporting recently attending the fire academy. graduating as a firefighter paramedic. assigned to the busiest station
