park. response team investigated a report of a powdery substance. authorities say a worker found a letter addressed to the college foundation of north carolina with a powdery substance inside. the letter was addressed to a person not employed there. hazmat crews say the substance was not a harmful but have not said what it was. there were no reports of any injuries or anyone needing medical assistance. amber: now in durham, and investigation is underway to figure out how a police officer was shot in the booking area of the county jail. as anthony wilson reports, the anthony: it happened around 3:30 this morning in the booking area of the county jail. officers are bringing jimmy mcmillan in on a domestic charge , and suddenly found himself wrestling with a gun. the gun was in the back of the suspect's pants. the officer is out of the hospital now. mcmillan is now charged with several crimes, including assault with a deadly weapon on a government official. in the original charge, a domestic charge, secret peeping. security cameras captured the scuffle, but the video is not being released at this time. from the durham county jail, anthony wilson. john

foundation to help out children who are less fortunate. they are doing their very best to turn the tragedy that happened in this parking lot in to something positive. >> reporter: the shooting drew national attention. it was a chaotic scene back in october 2010 after police opened fire on a vehicle full of college students. killing 20-year-old danroy dj henry and wounding a friend who was also in the car. after years of litigation, henry's parents accepted a $6 pleasantville where their son was gunned down. >> there's no amount of money that will bring our son back. if someone could tell us the amount we could pay to get our son back, we'd do that. this is the only recourse we had left. >> reporter: the 20-year-old college student was trying to drive out of this shopping center after a brawl broke out in a bar. the star football player from nearby pace university was not involved in the fight. cops say they ordered him to stop the vehicle, but instead he aimed for officer adam hess who wound up on the hood of this nissan altima. hess explained he made the split second decision to open fire. fearing for his life. henry was black. officer h

just highlight out of the directors report, the san francisco general foundation had its major fundraiser this past last month at at&t park, and they're anticipating roughly about 1000 because of we have both a lunch and then we have the evening event. dad over 2500 people attend collectively. and were able to raise the largest ever, 1.6 point dollars. which goes directly to the sf gh family including our patients, our staff, our clinics, our doctors etc. etc. so we just want to thank everybody for participating and working in this great effort. it's also noted she mentions the great awards are given and it was one given we want to mention specifically. that is, one of the key members of the hearts of heroes was pam-of the san francisco giants owners. she is retired from the board of san francisco general hospital but she still serves as an ambassador to general hospital. she and her family have been committed to providing resources for the excellence and training of general hospital for many personal reasons including those of her family but was a great honor to see everybody really give her a very very exceptional thinn
