as far as transactions go, structures negotiate and complete land transactions that create parks and playgrounds in natural areas. our first urban transaction was here in san francisco, actually. in 1976. in addition to that, we have played a role in the acquisition or facilitation of dl sol park, alioto park, michelangelo part, the parcels of the visitation valley greenway, and the gardens. mostly early, from the 1970's to the 1990's on most of this. and for part design and development, which has become an apartment, which transfer newly acquired sides in existing city parks into thriving parks and playgrounds. we played an extensive -- employed extensive community outreach and purchase of the tory design process and manage design through construction to insure that the projects are built. we worked very closely with the department, with phil's staff. we appreciate your contributions to the project. because we not just want to create parks that are going to last for a long time, that are going to meet city standards and be something the city is proud of, but we want to try to help communities c

dorchester reinvented itself as the quintessential suburban family time at parks and playgrounds along the river, the golf course, church and synagogue. on sunday afternoon, families converged at franklin park to walk through parkways were too much ostriches, polar basin tigers at the zoo. again, a small note here, which is when i was writing all of this, i kept thinking i went and looked out a book might of been his window. i don't know exactly where he lived in terms of what floor, but looking up, and looks into the park, which at that point of time as part of the zoo. i kept thinking to myself, if i was a 3-year-old child, what would i remember about that new? 83-year-old daughter attend and i kept thinking, what would it be? it would have to be the animals. so it took only a couple of readings to figure out their ostriches to the zoo. what was very nice is if someone came to me. i was doing one of these readings and someone came to me is that how do you know their ostriches in this new? is so nice that the writer, filed away in the back of my cabinet was a little article about the

playground areas. the ampitheater was built in 1972. it was the home of the first blues festival. given the fact that jerry garcia used to play in this park, he was from this neighborhood, everybody knows his reputation. we thought what a great thing it would be to have an ampitheater named after jerry garcia. that is a name that has panache. it brings people from all over the bay area to the ampitheater. the calls that come in, we'd like to do a concert at the jerry garcia ampitheater and we do everything we can to accommodate them and help them because it gets people into the park. people like a lot of color and that's what they call a park. other people don't. you have to try to reconcile all those different points of view. what should a park look like and what should it have? should it be manicured, should it be nice little cobblestones around all of the paths and like that. the biggest objective of course is getting people into the park to appreciate open space. whatever that's going to take to make them happy, to get them there, that's the main goal. if it takes a planter with flowers and stuff like that, fine. you know, so what? pe
